This is an awesome front focal plane scope, period. The Weaver quality is still there. It's made in Japan now, in the same optics factory ( Light Optics Japan ) as the Bushnell Elite, and many other high-end scopes out there. It's a very solid scope with very accurate tactical turrets and illuminated enhanced mil dot reticle. 90% plus light transmission through the 50mm lens. 30mm one piece tube. On an AR platform it will require a high scope ring or mount to clear any backup iron sights you might have to get over, as well as the 50mm objective lens itself. If you're mounting it on a typical Remington 700 or such you can get away with medium height rings. But measure clearance for your particular application regardless. I used UTG Quick Detach high rings on a Sig 716 in this application. The Burris PEPR and ADM Recon Delta mount also works well if you want a one piece mount on an AR. So if you're looking for a FFP 3-15 scope I think you'd be hard pressed to find better value out there. This is my third Weaver and I would be willing to put them in a comparison shootout with anything else out there. I've been using Weaver scopes for the past 45 years and the quality is still there, if not better today.
