I've always been a fan and I still am a fan of Holosun. I own many of their products and I love them all. This specific GDS did not work out of the box. After receiving the optic I installed the battery properly in the tray with the positive side of the battery facing down. It didn't work. So I though I'd install a different battery thinking the one that came with the sight was dead. The second battery worked for about 1 min and then the sight went out. I tried a number of other batteries and nothing worked after that. I contacted Holosun directly in regards to the warranty and I was immediately sent return postage to send the sight in for repair. Holosun's customer service seems to be quite good. I have not received the new sight yet but I'll be on the look out.

This product was very easy to install and works as intended. The finish is fairly decent but it isn't something I'd call great. It really does make the charging handle ambidextrous, however, you can't just pull on the charging handle (for lefty's) as if the latch on the charging handle was actually on the right side of the rifle. You actually have to grab the left side of the handle with both your thumb and index/middle finger (pretty obvious if you look at the piece). Over all functionality is king in my books and this product takes the crown!

Fitment issues. There are better option at the same price out there for CH latches.

After a little tinkering around I got it to work with my DS Arms CH. The latch itself would not open up enough to unlock the charging handle after it was properly installed. Because of this I had to grind a bit of metal off the flat surface that latches onto the upper receiver. Again, I did get it to work after a minimal amount of work but that is no excuse for shotty quality control on UTG's side.

Works as intended. The fitment is great and the piece is very lite; however, the finish leaves something to be desired. The profile of this piece is advantageous, large enough to help me grip my rifle both in conventional angled and beer can grip. On the downside, I would much rather see a higher quality finish on a product such as this.

Great little piece and it is quite small; however, it works very well as a hand stop. Equally it doubles well as a barricade stop on my AR-15 pistol, I put it up against a wood particle board wall and emptied a mag, as expected I had no issues staying on target. The serrations, much like those on a meat tenderizer, work well to prevent slippage. The piece is extremely lite and the finish is great. Mounts easily to M-Lok compatible rails and it hasn't loosened yet. One con is the price, $23 for a piece as small as this is a bit steep.

Issues with the latch locking properly in my AR rifle

This charging handle latch did not work as it was with my standard AR-15 charging handle. Fitment on the charging handle itself is not the problem; I was able to install the piece on my charging handle. The problem lies with charging handle as it functions in my AR. The locking part of the latch itself cannot clear the notch on the BCA upper receiver that is designed to keep the charging handle locked in place when not in use. The reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 1 is that the issue is fixable. I was able to file down the part of the latch in question and now it functions well. Either way, out of the box it should have worked as intended, it did not. On another note, cosmetically speaking the finish is sub par.
