ATN X-Sight 3-14

Written on Oct 15, 2016

This is one heavy scope. However, the rifle I am using it on is also heavy so I am shooting from a rest. So far I am impressed with the clarity of the optics. This is not an optical scope, it is a digital camera designed to be used as a rifle scope. I have found image clarity and quality are good. The night vision using the included IR illuminator is fantastic. There are several Youtube videos that will attest to that. To get a well-built night vision scope that can also be used during the day for this price is a real bargain. I am still getting used to this unit and learning all its features. This will be a keeper.

Nikon ProStaff Rimfire II 4-12x40

Written on Mar 14, 2016

This is a very nice scope. However, it is parallax focused at 75 yds. I was planning on using it on my airgun between 20 - 50 yds. at the closer ranges I could not get a clear focus on small targets. IT was perfectly clear at 100yds. So I returned it and got another scope that will better fit my needs.

Tasco Red Dot

Written on Mar 22, 2015

I bought this and Leapers to try out different sights. This had a Weaver style mount which was not useable on my gun. I returned it and got another Leapers. However, I did note that the knob to turn on and adjust brightness was very hard to use since it is situated too close to the elevation adjustment knob.

Leapers Red/Green Dot

Written on Mar 22, 2015

I was looking for a decent low cost red dot sight for some M&P 15-22 rifles my grandkids are shooting. While I have not had this long enough to testify of it's lasting endurance, or lack thereof, I am impressed with its weight and construction. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. It has red and green dots with a large range of brightness. Very impressive for the price. I think it will do very well for the purpose it is intended.
