Keep Expectations Low

Needs the user to auto adjust the resolution using the dial for both the thermal and NV. What happens is you go to adjust the view to 100 yards and finger smudges can easily be left on the lens. In the freezing temps this can be more difficult due to the user wearing gloves plus the dial is slightly stiff. The image quality is okay for spotting, but the part that I don’t like is that the image feels magnified and when panning the field of view it will be difficult to ID your target especially if moving. To fix this I would recommend to the company to start the user at 0.3-0.5x instead of 1x. Let me give an example. The first night out I saw a cat about 80 yards out. If you pan to the left or right let’s say 50 yards for quick target acquisition practice, it’s difficult no matter what setting the scope is on to track down the animal. A normal scope as you know you dial it back to 3x in daylight and there it is. With this in pitch black on the lowest brightness setting, there are target acquisition challenges, this is without thermal clutter. Let me give a more simplified example. On the iPhone in camera mode, it defaults everyone to 1x correct? Well sometimes you need to fit more of the picture in the frame so you click the 0.5x butting which puts more of the image in the frame, so now you can fit more details. For non tactical uses, I would recommend as it does thermal overlay which is great. It does not perform the thermal outline on objects up close. Am I glad I bought it?
