Work of Art

Written on Dec 02, 2020

This striker is a work of art. I can't comment on the longevity of the product, but the trigger feel and the quality of it are phenomenal. I've tried various brands and in all honesty I woudln't be surprised if this is just an L2d striker.

Better than the rest

Written on Nov 12, 2020

This is much better than the eylar case that I purchased here with the pick and pluck foam. I would never purchase another case that has that pick and pluck foam. Not only that when the lid is open on the eylar the case will not sit flat it weighs so much the case just tips back. I got two of these for 35 each and they are easily worth more they are the nicest pistol cases i've ever seen.

Major problems with this trigger show

Written on Aug 30, 2020

First off I swapped a stock trigger shoe so the issue was the shoe. If I hold back on the trigger shoe with just a little bit too much pressure the slide is extremely difficult to rack back. I'm talking with the trigger in the fired position. I dind't put the inspection plate on to see what's happening, but it's not normal.

Weak steel; Off right out of the box

Written on May 30, 2020

I had to adjust this right out of the plastic package. The trigger wouldn't fire and go to the reset position.
If you've ever had to bend a connnector to get the correct angle for proper engagement you'll realize this steel is very weak compared to a glock connector. This Wilson combat polished connec

great product

Written on May 25, 2020

How many other growlers do you know of that come with an internal copper lining? This keeps water colder than any other cheap container i've tried. As with everything they make the construction is top notch. I didn't pay the price listed here, but I would now that I know what it's capable of.

I'm biased because of the BCM mod 3

Written on Mar 30, 2020

I got this on sale for sixteen dollars that's the only reason I tried it. It does feel better than the ergo grips that everyone raves about. Those are horrible in my opinion. The lines in this grip are too pronounced, but it feels decent. My biggest gripe with this is the fact it fits so loosely on the receiver whereas every other grip i've tried fits snug to very tight. I'm biased after using the bcm mod 3 and honestly there is no comparison. I put this on a shotgun I rarely use, but i'm sure i'll change it out for another bcm grip.

Weighs 2 grams more than cheap ones!

Written on Mar 29, 2020

I've purchased a number of different brand gas tubes and if weight means anything these weight 2 grams more than the cheap no name brands like bootleg inc. I guarantee not many people think about comparing or weighing gas tubes, but I could feel the weight difference immediately and i'd like to believe the heavier weight is better in this instance. It would probably help with gas erosion and gas key wear?

Rail will move forward

Written on Mar 16, 2020

If you look at the picture it shows the retaining plate that is sandwiched by the two bolts. Maybe if those holes weren't egg shape the handguard wouldn't move forward. I mounted a scope on my pistol and this handguard moved forward and the scope will not hold zero. I torqued it to spec and used thread locker on the threads. There is a gap at the back of the handguard that wasn't there before I started shooting. Maybe it would be fine if I didn't have a scope on it, the anti rotation feature seems nice, but the retention is flawed. This is probably why this is discontinued and it says on their site all sales final for this model.

Take a look at how many of their handguards are on the second and third generation and compare that to any tier 1 company and you'll see MWI is the only one that has generation two and three for a number of handguards. It speaks volumes about the quality and function of their handguards. Now I know why real handguards are very expensive.

Overgassed

Written on Mar 01, 2020

This barrel may be accurate, but it is overgassed. In the end to get proper ejection I had to use a buffer that weighed 6oz. I could've just used an adjustable gas block and may consider switching in the future.

Better than a standard kit

Written on Feb 29, 2020

I'm glad I found out about this kit and tried it out. It was what I needed for an overgassed spikes barrel and a tailhook. In the end I ended up using something different, but I may use this on another build in the future. Supposedly this adds reliability to your weapon since it uses the a5 buffer and a rifle spring. Phase 5 makes a pistol buffer tube that is designed for the tailhook and it uses a rifle buffer and spring plus it adds length to your pistol.
