I love this red dot sight so much! I was so eager to try it out I forgot to put loctite on the screws and lost them. I contacted Vortex customer service in hopes of getting a replacement and they were the BEST in service of sending out new screws! Vortex really will work with you to find you a solution and that’s why I’ll stick with vortex products.

Not sure what other reviewer is talking about. Glass on mine is clear and bright. Can't tell much difference between this Sig BDX scope or my Vortex viper HS/Leupold VX3i for clarity.
Reticle is a little thick, so not really a precision type of sight, but that's not it's purpose.
As far as I know, you'll need a smart phone to bond the scope with range finder, no other way to do so to my knowledge. Once bonded, no phone necessary. However, you want the phone/app combo to store your custom loads, which will then optimize the accuracy for a given load, with the scope at any distance ranged from the range finder.
Range finder is excellent, fast. Transmit data to scope quickly. Scope will be ready before you are.
Very pleased, definitely recommend.

This being my first foray into red dot sights, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. After installation, and letting the blue adhesive cure for the requisite time, I headed to the range. While sighting in, the cover on the battery compartment decided to take flight, but I quickly found it and put it back on; I suspect I didn't have the cover threaded on correctly after first installing the battery, as the problem hasn't repeated. Once sighted in (very easy to do with the control buttons), it was simple to make hits out to 50 yards on steel; I plan on stretching it out to 60-75 yards eventually. Focusing on only one thing, the red dot, makes hitting the intended target much easier than using iron sights for me. For a while, I debated with myself about putting a 2x scope on the gun, but I decided that for handgun ranges I didn't need the magnification. For the record, the VV is well made and the adjustable-intensity red dot is easy to see in daylight. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and plan on outfitting another BH with the same set-up next year, and possibly other guns as well.

I was looking for a lightweight scope and with the reviews i read this was it. Good scope for the money, I find the focus a little ruff when adjusting, but can deal with it.The weight is what I was trying to gain, since my 80mm is not weight friendly to pack. Clarity was good on viewing of animals at many different magnifications. I would recommend this scope to someone.

Plug and play great red dot .especially when you can buy it on sale.I have the same red dot on my AR Rifle. Works well right out of the box. My eyesight isn't great and using the red dot scope improved my accuracy over the iron sights.

I have had several rangefinders over the years and all of them had the black reticle. Low light conditions in the early morning and at dusk proved ranging a bit more challenging. I cannot say that for the Vortex Ranger 1800. In the short time I have used it, I have ranged deer with nearly no light to speak of and the red reticle makes it easy to get yardage. The scanning feature is amazing as well. With the best warranty I have found, there is no question buying the Vortex Ranger 1800 is money well spent!

I purchased this scope for my 300 win , planning on shooting it out as far as my property will allow, ~1000 yards, give or take. From the picnic table, it's 900 yards to a 24" steel plate. After zeroing at 100yds, I tried using the excellent reticle for compensation at 400 yards (the subtensions matched my ballistic calculations perfectly), then dialed the correction which, again, worked perfectly. Stepping it out to 900 yards, I nailed this plate on my second shot with a milsurp tracer, using only the reticle for compensation. I'm about to purchase a second one of the these scopes.
