Almost perfect, my favorite AR grip.
Written on Mar 01, 2026
I've been running these grips for five years. But I feel the design needs a refresh. It's very comfortable and grippy in the hand but the issue is it's a bit slimmer than it could be. It doesn't feel very "substantial" and could use a bit more palm swell. I hope 2026 brings a new variant that's slightly bigger.

perfect for use with rifles/optics

Review for
MIRA Safety CM-7M Military Gas Mask
You can shoot magnified optics with this thing on, it's very shootable provided you have at least a 1.67" optics mount on your rifle. This thing is perfect for tactical use

Pointless Optic for .22LR shooting
Written on Apr 08, 2025
This optic sounds perfect for .22lr shooting, it's got a great BDC for subsonic ammo, decent glass & tactile controls. However, the parallax is set at 75y, meaning anything under 75y is very blurry. Why you'd make a .22LR optic with a 75y parallax instead of a 50y parallax is weird. And since this features no parallax adjustment you're stuck with blur at 50y which is where most people are shooting .22lr.
Athlon has adjustable parallax for less money.

Perfect for battlebelt/side cummerbund carry

Review for
Magpul Industries PMAG GEN M3 AR-15/M16/M4 .223 Rem/5.56x45mm NATO 20 Round Rifle Magazine
These are great to have in the cummerbund pockets of your plate carrier, or on your "battle belt". They're the perfect size magazine for me.

Great rail especially on sale.

This is about the cheapest you can find wedgelock rails for and I love it has an antirotation pin. Very solid feeling rail.
The only problem I had is the machining on the side setscrew threads is a bit sloppy but it's still functional.
Also, the wedgelock screw needs to be tightened COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to tighten the rail down. Not sure why!

Itchy material
Written on Apr 16, 2024
I really wanted to like this, this is genuinely the only bellyband that's actually trying to be different.
The zippers are a great idea, and it's actually a thought out product with more trigger protection and better retention.
THAT SAID, the material is more of a rough mesh, and it's itchy to wear it. For that reason, I cannot recommend it.

Great optic for a 5.56 SBR
Written on Feb 09, 2024
I'm specifically referring to the .223 BDC model in this review - the reticle lines up perfectly if you sling M193 at around 2800-2900 FPS, so depending on barrel quality that'll be about 12.5 or 13.9". Absolutely nuclear bright reticle. Lightweight compared to other LPVOs, and the turrets having tool-less zero reset is just icing on the cake. Very thin bezel when looking through scope.
That said, I did have a problem with mine - had a bit of a fogging issue. It was a pain in the butt getting Trijicon to see the problem I was talking about, but eventually they did fix it. I noticed additionally mine has a weird lens blemish in the very corner of the lens, you have to work to notice it though.

What exactly is "Match" about these?
Written on Feb 08, 2023
This is my second Faxon "Match" barrel I've had. The first was mediocre, so I replaced it with this one and it's terrible. Frankly when the barrel showed up packaged in a plastic bag with zero padding or packaging - partially protruding from the box opticsplanet hastily shipped it in, I should have tempered my expectations.
2.0 MOA with any ammo I put through it. Sierra Matchkings, 55/62/68/67 OTM, anything - nada. I'm waiting for Faxon to respond to my email but frankly when they replace my barrel it's getting sold instantly.
Additionally, when I took my barrel to gunsmith to get dimpled he said the gas port was drilled a bit off center so my dimpled gas block would need to ride a bit canted to match. WTF?
My old Criterion could spit sub-MOA any day of the week. Shame they're sold out all the time.
The only accuracy review I could find on YouTube for these barrels shows a man getting a dud barrel the first go around, then the 2nd one he gets is only marginally better. I think I'm going to have to pass on Faxon.

Gas port off-center
Written on Jan 20, 2023
Faxon match barrels are accurate for what they are, however on my sample of this barrel the gas port was off center. Enough that when I got the barrel dimpled it was unfortunately a bit canted, which doesn't make for a beautiful gun.

Perfect for it's role.
Written on Jan 01, 2023
This barrel is ideal in SPRs that are meant to be carried. It's really lightweight for the profile and dissipates heat very well.
Accuracy hasn't been crazy, but it IS shooting M193 at a consistent 1.5-2.0 MOA. That's pretty good.
IMI 77grs have been 1.2-1.5 MOA which is a bit surprising.
Barrel arrived with some discoloration on the exterior - not sure what it was. Almost looked like oxidation. Also had a yucky oil slathered on it.
Faxon is still shipping their barrels in plastic bags! Surely a cardboard box with .10c of foam padding isn't out of budget?
