Solid Thumb Break Scabbard!

Written on Jun 26, 2024

Bought it for a new 3" Colt Python 2020. I would have liked the suede lined version that DeSantis used to offer, but this standard un-lined version is not bad at all. With a high quality leather belt, the holster keeps the guns securely but not overly tight for smooth draw. The leather could be a bit thicker and the fit could be a bit tighter at the beginning to require some time to break in, so it will stay tight for years to come. That being said, it is one of my favorite "factory made" thumb break leather holsters for DA revolvers, and Optics Planet's price and free shipping is unbeatable.

Very poor fit to the frame...

Written on Mar 10, 2015

I've already got a Crimson Trace Laserguard on my Ruger LCP and Kahr P380. So this Laserguard for my Kahr PM9 is my third one. The first two Laserguard on my .380 pistols are just wonderful. They were easy to install and fit perfectly.

This Laserguard for PM9, however, is NOT as good in terms of the fit. The two halves of the plastic frame are warped due to poor molding. As the result, they do not fit the gun's trigger guard as they should leaving a huge gap between the two halves. Even if you force them to be put on the trigger guard, you still cannot close the two halves with the two screws.

I had to file and sand inside rail and also use my heat gun to fit the two halves. After a couple of hours of struggle, the whole thing is secure finally, and it is working. But I can still see a small gab between the two halves that I don't see with other two Laserguards....

I'm a big fan of CT Laserguard, but until Crimson Trace rectify the fitness issue of this particular model, I will NOT recommend it to others.
