The name says it all. Vortex has done it again with the new viper lineup. First the exposed locking elevation turret with the rev stop zero stop system is one of my personal favorites from the vortex line up and other brands I’ve owned in the past. Second I like how they bring down similarities from their Razor LHT’s into the new Viper lineup. Being able to have similar features for less money and still having quality glass is very nice. Granted you still don’t have to spend this much to get quality glass out of a Vortex scope. I enjoy my Strike Eagle and Venom scopes along with the Diamondbacks and Crossfires I have owned. But back to the Viper HD. Looking through that scope during the day is like someone turned a dimmer up. I’ve only experienced that with two other scopes I’ve owned. A Razor LHT and a VX-5 Leupold. That being said I can’t speak to how it compares to low light situations as I haven’t had time to work with it that much yet.
