Fantastic sight, but the dot on my Aimpoint PRO is crisper

Written on Jan 01, 2015

The title line pretty much sums it up. This is a fantastic sight with small size, ridiculous durability and amazing battery life. My only con for it (other than the price) is that the dot has a bit of a "smear" look to it (almost like a little red comet). I've heard other people voice the same complaint and the usual response is "you must have astigmatism in you eye that makes it look that way." My reply is that a) I don't have astigmatism, and b) The dot on my Aimpoint PRO does not look like this and it uses the same LED mechanism as the Micro. When the dot on my PRO is turned up it does start to bloom like the Micro, but when I dial it down to do precision shooting (either as is or using a 3X magnifier) it is a very crisp circle, almost like an EOTech. That being said, even with the slight smear to it, the dot on the H-2 is small and precise. I have a few Primary Arms Micro Dots (PA's Micro clone) and while they are great sights -especially for $89- the dot is about twice as big as the H-1's and the blooming is worse. That's why I still give this sight 5 stars; yes the dot blooms a bit, but compared to the other options it's still precise. It's expensive, but you will definitely have it for the rest of your life so it's cheap in the long run. Plus if you want to sell it, they hold their value pretty well and you can get $400 for it if it's in decent condition. If you add a KAC battery cover that holds a spear battery you can go for 10 years before you need to worry about fi
