Warning - It comes in a box marked for 308 but don't let that throw you off -

Written on Dec 03, 2022

It's the same tube and spring as the AR10/M5/308 AR, but it has the huge 7.7oz buffer.
I bought all 3 (AR15, AR10, 9mm EPC) at the same time and it messed with me.

The only reason they lose a star is because the box is labeled wrong.

My mistake - Didn't realize this was a 1/2-36....but they don't even make a 1/2-28.

I'll keep it because it is what I ordered, but Guntec doesn't make a stubby 9mm can with the VERY (maybe most) popular 1/2-28 thread.
I would take another point off because it's aluminum and not steel, but again it is clearly described as aluminum, so I can't.

Dang it, they gave me exactly what I ordered.

Well made, 5 stars.
Minus 1 star for the design flaw. It's a little too shallow to be very effective; it needs at least 3/4" more, probably 1" more.

Super robust, but super duper awkward.

I love everything about it EXCEPT the full body judo required to fold it.

On some guns when your charging handle is on the left (where it should be), the tube will not fully fold over, so the conversion to a right side hinge is needed. When folding left it's not that bad, but when switched, the mechanism to release it is now upside down and that ruins the natural kinematics.
It's easiest for me to rotate the gun (PC Charger) upside down and use the leverage of folding it to the left (inverted right).

The engineer chose the wrong spring for this application. Even with a much softer spring the mechanism is robust enough to not come unlocked like some other brands do.

I'll might end up replacing the spring with something from McMaster or re-design it with a little lever.
It's not like I need to tuck it away in a tiny box so for now, I just leave it unfolded.
