Hawke bubble level
Written on Mar 02, 2015
I have been a competitive rifle and pistol shooter for many years so I've learned to purchase quality items if you want them to be rugged enough to survive in the field. I was a bit doubtful about what the quality of this level would be due to the price-point at which it was offered but have been very satisfied. The item is constructed of machined aluminum and mounts securely to my receiver by use of a clamp that tightens via an allen head bold (which is just visible on the far right side of the product picture) It holds secure through multiple recoils of the rifle.
I also like the white lines that are actually inscribed and then filled with white paint as they help assure the placement of the bubble level is centered when you are looking at the level and the scope at the same time. In a previous scope level I owned, the small black lines which are common to any spirit level are easy enough to see when viewed at a distance, but when your eye is only 5-6 inches away from the level as it should be when using the proper eye relief for the scope optics, the black lines are next to impossible to see without dismounting your cheekweld and viewing the spirit level from a greater distance (approx 12+ inches)
Hawke seems to be one of those companies releasing quality products to the shooting world but has not been around long enough to demand higher prices for their products yet. This product was a very good value for it's cost. I would not hesitate to purchase agai
