Good scope at reasonable price!

Written on Mar 21, 2017

Bought this Mueller to mount on a new CZ 527 Varmint in 204 Ruger caliber. The CZ 527 has a unusual 16mm dovetail for mounting scopes which severally limits your choice of rings. I originally wanted a side focus 30mm version of this scope but every vender I checked was out of 30mm rings that would fit the 16mm dovetail. Finally decided to go with the 1" tube and I am not disappointed the glass is clear and gathers plenty of light. Parallax adjustments on the bell are smooth and finding the sharpest setting is very easy. The reticle is fine enough that even at 300 yards it doesn't interfere with target blocking. The CZ 527's varmint barrel is thinner and lighter than most varmint guns. With a hot load and a heavy bullet the gun jumps more than I expected. That hasn't affected the zero of the scope. The turrets move POA easily in 1/8" increments and are very predictable when adjusting. At 19 oz the scope and gun combined to a manageable 8Lb 8oz very light for a varmint gun and a pleasure to carry. The eye relief is excellent at about 3". I haven't had a chance to shoot beyond 300 yards yet but I believe the Mueller should be very capable out to 500 yards which the suggested maximum range for the 204 Ruger cartridge.

Perfect size pocket Knife.

Written on Feb 19, 2017

Some how lost my pocket knife I've had for 10 plus years. Saw the Kershaw Volt II while ordering another product and thought I'd give it a try. The size and price seemed right but I was a little skeptical of the polymer handle I have always had all metal knives in the past. The knife is super sharp right out of the box as it should be. The serrated portion of the blade which I wasn't initially edited about is great when cutting heavy rope, plastic ties, etc. The overall size is OK although I would have like it about an inch longer. The polymer handle makes the knife lighter and I don't even notice it in my pocket like my old all metal unit.

Close but not a perfect fit!

Written on Feb 19, 2017

Ordered this for for my Marlin 1894 in 44 Magnum after assurance of fit by customer representative. The screw holes line up perfectly but the pad does not match the stock butt end exactly. The pad is a little shorter and a little narrower. Prior to installation I was using a Pachmayr Decelorator slip on pad. I reinstalled the slip on pad over the pre-Fit pad and now have a very soft shooting Marlin 1894 44 Magnum. The two units combined did increase my length of pull slightly but not negatively. I am a big guy with long arms and thought the original length of pull was a little short for me. Overall I am happy with the results since the slip on pad hides the not quite perfect Pre-Fit pad.

Fits multiple applications

Bought the Crimson Trace universal originally for a Glock Gen 3 Model 23 that I converted from 40 S&W to 9MM. Fit is very exact just choose the correct adapter for your particular semi auto. I then decide to move the laser to a new Walther PPQ in 22LR. Although it was not on the list of guns one of the spacing adapters worked perfectly. A decent laser and in green it is definitely the way to go can be seen better than the red. Zeroing the sight usually only takes five or so shots assuming you remember which way to adjust the sighting screws. My only complaint is in bright sunlight the CMR-206 is only usable out to about ten to fifteen yards then washes out quickly. Although all lasers claim to use the maximum 5mW laser the CMR-206 seems to produce less light in bright sun than the Viridian C5L which I could see easily out to twenty plus yards in bright sun light. Under all other lighting conditions the CMR-206 is bight and easy to bring to target quickly.

Great for break barrel air rifle with severe vibration.

Written on Jan 28, 2016

Bought these to replace single screw rim fire style rings that came with my air gun scope. Their original single screw design and 11mm rail clamp allowed the scope to move and the point of impact to constantly change. I installed a one piece 11mm to picatinny scope mount and the new rings which included ring liners and four screws with each ring these stopped the vibration impact to point of aim that the original rings allowed.

Mount will not compensate a severely drooped barrel

Written on Jan 28, 2016

Ordered the MNT-DNT06 for use on a new Diana RWS Model 34 .22 cal. Although the mount has a moderate amount of droop compensation designed in it is not enough if you are unlucky enough to receive a RWS break barrel with severe droop.

At full up elevation adjustment with three separate scopes of varying quality the gun continued to shoot 15-18" low. To complicate things more one of the scopes (also brand new, bought for this gun, a Leapers 3-9x32mm UTG Bug Buster) had no working elevation or windage and had to be returned). Currently no one offers a RWS T06 scope mount with severe droop compensation.

After researching on the internet, calls to Umarex, and questions posed to several air gun forums the suggestions ran from bending the barrel in a home made jig, to shimming the scope, obtain a much costlier scope with extra elevation and windage built in and just sending the gun back for a replacement unit. Many other Model 34 owners indicated they had a similar problem so I assumed a replacement may yield another severly drooped barrel. I ruled out the barrel bending and was not inclined to shim a Leupold scope from my AR15 and risk bending the tube. While waiting for the Bug Busters return I ended up shimming under the back end of the MNT-DMT06 with two pieces of copper sheet (3/8"x1" just behind the rear scope stop screw to the end of the mount) each piece measured .017 thickness for a total raise of .034. This produced a shot placement approximately 6-7 inches high with th
