Excellent value in an LPVO scope.

Written on Jun 02, 2024

I own several Swampfox Tomahawk 1-8x24 rifle scopes and wanted to find out if the Arrowhead 1-10x24 scopes are better, not that the Tomahawk models are deficient in any way. The Arrowhead scopes offer a number of models with different reticles. I chose the long-range MOA reticle because it can be used with many different rifles which have different barrel lengths and are chambered for different calibers. The reticle has two MOA marks throughout its scale, to use in making adjustments for shots at different ranges. One reticle offered has marks for bullet drop compensation, but they work only for .223/5.56mm 55 grain bullets in a 16-inch barrel.
I believe that it would be extremely hard to beat the quality of the Swampfox Arrowhead scope with any other scope in its price range. The scope is clear and sharp throughout its range of magnification from 1 to 10 power. There is not a lot of difference in the 9 and 10 power than using 8 power in the Swampfox Tomahawk models. The turrets are completely different, however. The newer Arrowhead has turrets which lift up to adjust MOA up or down, then lock in place when pushed back down. The Arrowhead scopes feature an adjustable lighted reticle with "off" positions between the numbered adjustments, which is convenient. It lets you keep the illumination off between settings, instead of just one "off" position between the high and low settings.
Are the reticle adjustments accurate? I expect so, as they are on my Swampfox Tomahawk model
