I wear glasses so the whole mask thing blows. Sadly, the aluminum strip didn't allow a good seal so ended up wearing it upside down OR removed the aluminium strip altogether. ADDITIONALLY, and the worst, was that, at first glance, the logo LOOKS like the New England Patriots logo. You wouldn't think it, but there's a lot of dislike out there for this team and you'll take a lot of flack for this. Consider yourself warned!

I love this stock. I bought this because it was on sale from another site so thought I'd give it a shot- no pun int. Been using the requisite B5 SOPMOD and thought that would be the thing but this fits me much better. I'm a small dude and with body armor, I couldn't get a good cheek weld and sight picture. With the UTG it's a non-issue at all and because it's narrower and less bulky on me, I can't say enough about this. For those that care, it's about 2oz lighter and I do wish it had a QR mount on both sides but when's the last time you actually swapped that feature out on the fly.
For me, this is an inexpensive win on many levels. YMMV.

I wish I'd had this available before I purchased the Sig Sauer Ambi Mag Catch because this works more efficiently and with less effort than the Sig version. While similar, the UTG is actually more "extended," making the ergonomics brilliantly smooth with flawless operation. The right side has the option of the either standard mil-spec button you're used to, or an extension tab that screws onto the button, all without having to pay extra! While Sig is good, this is much better, IMHO.
The only possible knock on this would be that, because of the thickness, I find it does SLIGHTLY interfere with the small, mil-spec bolt catch button. This becomes a non-issue after a little practice because the functionality grossly outweighs this issue and is easily solved with a Strike Industries Bolt Catch.
Whether you're a right or left handed shooter, this really is one of the best functioning and most affordable mag releases out there- you'll NOT be disappointed

I did not purchase this from Optics Planet, but if I had, the product in no way reflects Optics Planet's service, which is always stellar.
I currently use a "Strike Industries Enhanced Bolt Catch Large-Wide Dual Paddle" on another build and it is STELLAR. I'm a lefty shooter with smaller hands and this latch makes life a lot easier for sure. In addition to being ergonomic, it catches as it should but releases with no effort- you push the paddle and the bolt slams shut. Easy, and as I imagined it should work- like the EOM mil-spec catch, but better. Hence, the "upgrade."
However, on my recent build (10.5" AR pistol) I thought I'd give this version of Strike's bolt catch a shot because this had a different look to it and "should" be the same, right?. No. This one has has been a struggle from the get go because of the pressure required to release the bolt. Using only your index finger is impossible as You simply cannot get enough leverage. I get I have small-ish hands but there's NO HOPE! You simply cannot release the bloody thing at all! The catch face LOOKS like the other, but upon inspection, I noticed the catch face appears to be thicker than the stock version. Maybe mine was a fluke (though I seriously doubt that) or, maybe it's how they designed this particular one; who knows. Because it's from Strike, it SHOULD be the same as the other Enhanced Bolt Catch except for the paddle shapes - it is NOT.
