Dollar to dollar an excellent alternative to the Vltor A5 tube. Has additional adjustment stops that some people may prefer, additional bottom drainage holes help with air/water drainage. Only complaint is due to the squared surfaces on the outside certain stocks, mostly the B5 family, have some wiggle to them. A cheap fix is a strip of loop side Velcro.

For astigmatism, this 1-6 takes the cake. Excellent eye relief, very intuitive controls so zeroing still allows for acceptable peripheral vision when shooting around others, and overall a high quality mount included.
The biggest complaint I have, personally, is the optic does NOT include the Sig MOTAC feature to automatically shut off the optic to conserve battery life. Otherwise, from LEOs to current and former service members, it's an incredible value and boasts features that new, seasoned, and competitive shooters will appreciate.

This is my third (3rd) Hyve +2 and I plan to get more. The added weight, increased capacity, and variety of colors to help indicate last mag make it ideal over aftermarket magazines.
The one purchased from Optics Planet was a matte finish where the two I have gotten direct from Hyve were gloss, I would say the matte finish looks better once dinged and scratched.

The option of open top magazine pouches is becoming more the norm with increased use of active shooter kits being utilized by patrol level officers. The greatest draw to the 5.11 line of magazine pouches is the integration of closed top and open top options in one platform, the only draw back being magazine size to "effectively" use the shock cord fastener, G19 15 round magazines fit securely using the elastic keeper band sew into each pouch without the need of the shock cord. The slick-stick securing system is well designed, with the emphasis on single time mounting as the last band and grommet closure are difficult to manipulate into webbing such as a plate carrier, vest, or pack, but once complete it is one of the most secure mounting methods I have used in my hour years with law enforcement and private security contractors.

Having received this with the intention of placing two additional pairs of restraints on my duty bag, I quickly found out that only one (1) pair of S&W M-100 handcuffs fit with it still able to close properly. Being a Safariland product, it holds up to 95% of the abuse you give it, needing an occasional wash from mud or other fluids to remain presentable, not impeding functionality, it fulfills its purpose day in and day out. It is only available in black from OpticsPlanet, somewhat disappointing as I was expecting it to match the OD-Green one shown, cosmetically, it does not matter who color it is. Riot cuffs fit two (2) or three (3) with minimal fuss. I may try to fit two (2) standard pairs of handcuffs into it, but as stated earlier it does NOT. Well made product as is all Safariland equipment, well worth the price, but be certain it will fit your intended restraints before using in the field.

Purchasing the Narcotics patch to go with my drug task force gear, it makes it easily identifiable by other members when leaving meetings or asking for specific equipment such as urine analysis kits or breathalyzers tucked away. Looking into the company who makes them, its veteran owned and part of the reintegration and rehabilitation of service members into the work force, all meaningful to me having several former service members as friends and family. the quality is as expected, though double stitching where the embroidered panel and hook and loop panel meet would ave been nice, it serves it purpose well.

The pack runs slightly larger on internal size than listed, which is a plus. Initially picked up as a duty bag I am ordering another for a backpack at college. The compartmentalized interior is great for storing high-vis vests, extra clothing items, and the other usual law enforcement items. In the front most pocket you can store four (4) PMAGS (or magazine of choice) comfortably and still have room for stationary. It feels like 500D ballistic nylon, which is fairly water resistant. The zipper closures are backwards (common on most law enforcement or military packs) to keep dirty and moisture out. Color matches across a multitude of different pouches and cases from different manufacturers, some slight variance but not enough to get dramatic about. I have yet to get it full enough to the point of needing the compression straps, it would be nice if they were removable like the chest strap and waist strap (it is not removable but has a compartment to tuck them in to). All and all, for the price, it far exceeds expectations after a month of daily use
