Feeding Failures During Speed Reloads
Written on Oct 13, 2025
I purchased three of these stainless steel 10-round magazines (PN 47-45FS10) from OpticsPlanet for my TRP Operator Full Rail. After fewer than 500 rounds, I began experiencing consistent feeding failures.
During speed or combat reloads — when inserting the magazine into the magwell with force from slide lock — the slide fails to feed a round from the magazine and chamber it. This issue happens across all three stainless mags.
What’s especially frustrating is that my factory Springfield Armory magazines have run flawlessly under the same conditions, with zero malfunctions. These Wilson Combat mags were supposed to be an upgrade, but they’ve proven less reliable. Very disappointing performance for the price and brand reputation.

Slide Fails to Go Into Battery After Reloads
Written on Oct 13, 2025
I purchased three of these black 10-round magazines (PN 500-45FS10B) from OpticsPlanet for my TRP Operator Full Rail. After fewer than 500 rounds of use, I’ve had repeated issues.
When performing a speed or combat reload — inserting the magazine into the magwell with force — the slide will not return to battery. It stays locked back and won’t go forward using the slide release or power-stroking the slide. This happens consistently across all three magazines.
My factory Springfield Armory mags, however, have worked perfectly with zero issues, even under the same reload conditions. These Wilson Combat mags have been unreliable and disappointing — not what I expected from a premium product.
