After having used this knife for 5 weeks now I have found the blade to be quite sharp and sturdy. Unfortunately the pocket clip broke when it snagged on something while I was getting out of my car during the first few weeks. There was a spare (very scratched up) pocket clip included with the knife which I have installed but it's orientation is flipped for carrying in the left pocket. While changing out the pocket clip I decided to make sure all the screws were still snug (as it recommends in the owners manual) and discovered the bottom-most screw on the backside of the handle was not secure. It was slightly shorter than the other screws and barely able to grab any threaded material. I have applied some threadlocker and it appears to be staying in place at least for now.

I love the look and feel of the knife and have been satisfied with the blade. I am saddened, however, that the pocket clip breaks so easily and more so that I got a sub-par quality knife with a screw that won't hold.
This is my first Hogue knife and I expected quality given the reputation and the price tag. Sadly, it has been a bitter first impression.

I still have and use the SPARC AR and it works great but wanted the extended battery life and motion activated capabilities other similar red dots are offering. I was glad to see Vortex offer this product and bought it quickly. I have been thoroughly pleased with my purchase. The new mount is lightweight and sturdy and the motion activation and solar power are great improvements. I've only run about 600 rds with this optic on my rifle but I got to test it on a few rainy-day range sessions (my range is outdoors and uncovered with targets out to 285 yds) and I have had no issues. I like the new lens covers as well because they're easier to remove and put back on than what came with the SPARC AR. I only ever put mine on when I toss my gun in a bag and leave them off when the gun is in use or stored in the locker. Also, you can't beat the Vortex Warranty!
