The screws were too long for my rail. I was able to lock the Pic rail in place by adding 2 two 1mm spacers that I had from another project. If you need these they will work, but it would have been better if the screws were appropriately sized.
I had held off getting an ACOG just because I couldn't understand why they cost so much. Now I do and the price is not unreasonable. The glass is amazingly clear and the 4x mag is very good for anything 500 or closer. This reticle does not lend itself well to this scope. I had to get online and memorize where the numbers are because they are so small that you can't read them. I think I could use this effectively with some practice now that I have memorized what the different lines mean, but that is a moderate detractor. The illumination is great. It seems like it is very rugged. Super easy to install. I like this reticle but in this form factor it is not so easy to use. I may pick up another, cheaper optic with the same reticle somewhere down the line and see if it is more user friendly.
I ordered this for one of my builds that I had mistakenly got a carbine length buffer for. This solved all my cycling problems. Now I have to write some filler because I didn't have enough to say to satisfy the minimum requirement.
I was really happy when I tested the seating stem in this die and it fit the ELD bullets I was using perfectly. I also like being able to micro adjust the die without loosening it from my press. Having a reference to go off of makes a big difference.
The only problem I had was that I broke the lock ring screw the first time I used it. Had to replace with a sturdier Hornady lock ring. I will be replacing all of the lock rings on my Forster dies because if this. I didn't torque it very hard.
After scouring every store in town I was unable to find anything that would work on my new rifle. Finally I turned to the internet and found this. Good product that was not unreasonably priced. It fit perfectly and even came with the required wrench.
I have an MDT ESS chassis on a Howa Action and while these fit the mag well, I did have to file them down a bit to get them to lock into place as well as filing down the retention piece to allow the bolt to slide smoothly. They were all very consistent and almost identical in the amount of filing I had to do to get them to function properly. Now they are tight but not too tight and they feed very well. If you get these for an MDT Chassis, be aware the the front side (Feed Side) will need to be filed down just a touch... maybe 1/32 of an inch. I was able to do this in about 10 minutes with a medium nail file.
I looked at many different scopes and even ordered one before I finally ordered this one. The one I ordered was not deliverable due to restrictions put on it by the company I ordered from, so it was returned not delivered. Optics Planet got this one to me for a great deal and in a timely fashion. It came with some tools, instruction manual and a sunshade as well as lens caps preinstalled. Most of the other scopes I looked at did not come with sunshade or lens caps. The reason I am dropping a star is due to the turrets being kind of weird feeling. It functions consistently, but the turrets do not give that crisp feedback I was expecting. I really like the deca reticle.
