Great scope for the price.

I haven't owned many expensive scopes over the years , but I'd put this in a higher end category. I can compare it to Athlon Argos 6x24 or to vortex viper and with many weaver and leupold lower end models. The reticle on this patriot is very fine and easy to precisely aim. I'm skeptical about first focal plane scopes with a lower base magnification because I'm always afraid the duplex will cover up the point I'm aiming at. Not with this scope from 6x up to about 16x you can still accurately see the precise dot you are aiming at. In fact, with my eyes, I sometimes have to zoom a little just to see the writing (numbers) on the etched glass. I have had other FFP scopes before that I had to keep on low power just so the crosshairs didn't cover up the target. This is not the case with the Patriot. I never use lighted reticles and like the fact that this doesn't have that option and therefore saves the worry of a battery corroding or going dead. My only concern - is with the crosshairs being so "fine haired", that in low light conditions, it may take an extra second to find the reticle if it is on base power. So far, my use has only been target shooting and I couldn't be happier with the reticle, the weight, the clarity of the image and the returnability of the turrets. For the money, this is a great scope and I would highly recommend it.
