The end plate is solid but the top sticks out 1/16" too high. I only noticed it after pulling the charging handle a couple times after the install. It marred my Raptor charging handle��. I had to file the top down and paint it with black paint.

If you buy one, file the top off 1/16" and paint it before installing it. I have to use painter's tape to protect the lower and the castle nut when I filed it.

The two loops work nicely so I will keep it on my AR.

I ordered the SI FDE Flag Enhanced Ultimate Dust Cover along with other upper parts for my Aero Precision M4E1 upper and lower without reading the compatibility statement. While waiting for the order to arrive, I saw the expert's answer that the cover is not compatible with M4E1 upper. Then I checked SI's website. Same statement. I almost called OP to cancel the item. Because OP's superb return policy, I want to give the cover a chance.

A few days later, I received the cover. To my surprise, it fits the M4E1 Threaded Upper perfectly. It took me less than two minutes to install it. I didn't even need to adjust anything. It just fits.

The FDE color is slightly lighter than Aero's FDE color but still matches. Yesterday, I painted the flag with blue and red colors. I am really happy with it. I wish OP allows pictures for review so I can show you how well it fits the M4E1.

Since I just installed the cover, I cannot say how well it resists heat. I read it might warp if left in hot sun for too long. I live in Florida and will keep that in mind.
