Darker than actually pictured

Written on Mar 06, 2025

I bought one of these thinking it was a clear anodized one. Do note that it states copper in the product description, but the image is misleading, as that is how the clear anodized barrel nut actually looks. The copper one comes in a darker brown color than the one you see listed.

As far as barrel nuts go, it's extremely lightweight, and is really only compatible with Q handguards.

I would suggest using the Q multi-tool that is sold separately for around $50 to install this thing. The metal on it is easy to damage if you use a standard wrench. The multi-tool doesn't prevent damage entirely (speaking from experience), but it certainly helps mitigate any damage. It's easier to torque on without damage than it is to remove without damage. Use masking tape!

Great product, but be aware of the color you're actually purchasing.

Good Stabilizer Brace - Just Remember to Have the Right Buffer Tube Type!

Written on Feb 01, 2025

This brace mounts onto an AR Pistol receiver extension/buffer tube, which means the one without the six position indentations on the bottom. Luckily I had more than a few laying around that I was able to install this pretty easily. The set screw on the bottom will cause some indentation on your receiver extension since it doesn't have anything else to screw into, so be mindful of your torque settings.

Strike makes good quality stuff, and their design is a bit more aggressive looking that some of the other stabilizing braces I've seen.

I mounted this onto a AR9 shorty that I have and it looks good.

You'll Need An Extended Magazine Release for your AR10 Builds

Written on Jan 14, 2024

I thought I'd be able to use a Milspec magazine release button with my Aero M5 lower receiver (for an AR10/308). I was right, kind of. But the magazine release button doesn't extend out enough due to the lower receiver being a lot wider than an AR15 one. So I got this, installed it like any other button, and it extends enough to allow for the same action that you would deal with on an AR15.

The Classic

Great trigger. I like a mix of single stage and two stage triggers, and I'm finding that I like the two stage options a little better for AR pistols with short barrels. I own two of these, and they're worth snatching up when they go on sale.

Nice Forward Assist, Anything is Better than BORING MILSPEC

Written on Jan 14, 2024

A nice and durable forward assist with a tactical design. Installed onto my Aero M5 upper receiver just fine.

Milspec quality, without the boooooooring Milspec look.

Great for Armorer’s Kit Vise Block

Written on Jan 04, 2024

This pairs perfectly with the lower vise block that ships with Real Avid’s armorer kit, or for those of you that purchased the earlier iteration of their vise block.

Glad to see Real Avid branching into different niches in the market beyond just the AR15 platform.

Pairs well with Aero’s M5 DPMS lower receiver.

Great Upper Vice Block for Aero M5 DPMS

Written on Jan 04, 2024

I have the Real Avid armorer’s vises and this pairs with it perfectly. They also designed it to work with most normal vises.

You’ll need proper support when mounting your barrel and muzzle device to your upper, and this vise block provides the support you’ll need.

The right tools make all the difference. The price is probably a bit high for most, but it’ll be a tool you’ll be able to use for a long time.

Because we both know you’re going to be spending even more money on another build.

Great on a Delta 5 Pro

Written on Dec 21, 2023

I mounted this rifle onto a Delta 5 Pro in 6.5 Creedmoor. The illuminated reticle is a nice addition. Decent glass for the money, not as clear as a Nightforce, but in terms of bang for buck, it’s a solid choice.

Love Spuhr

These are extremely high quality mounts and look really great on top of a rifle. I have two sets, one dual “mono block” and two separate rings.

They come with a leveling tool and an integrated level to help make mounting your riflescope easier.

They are admittedly quite pricey, but will last a very long time.

Great Bipod at Great Price

Written on Dec 21, 2023

I own two of these bipods, one mounted on a Delta 5 Pro and one mounted on a Aero Solus.

I have one in green and one in black, to match the colors of the rifles.

These bipods have carbon fiber on them which gives them a pleasing and slick aesthetic appearance, while remaining very functional.

Holds cant very well.

They are also cheaper than a lot of other bipods, but are made by a reputable manufacturer, so the quality is up there.
