This is a really lightweight end plate, machining quality is good, design looks nice, just wish it was made from 7075 or another stronger aluminum alloy than 6061.
I believe it's the shortest ode stock out there currently and is of great quality. Quick to deploy and to collapse. Finish and machining on mine had no flaws.
Looks nice and as unique cut outs making it aesthetically better looking than the plain old mil spec receiver extension(buffer tube). Due to the cuts though seems to cause stocks to have some rattle even using a magpul sl-k stock.
I like the design and functionality of this rack charging handle. I own radian raptors including the np3 coated one, bcg ambi, strike industries latch less and this one is almost as smooth as the np3 coated raptor. it has very little wobble in the venom defense upper it's in. My only issue it that the handles stick out a little more than I like and the handle is also bulky for my taste
Most ar15 owners will likely never need to replace a regular gas tube. But if you want one that you guarantee that then this is the one for you.
If running full auto, binary trigger, etc. this also would be a good gas tube but would need to keep an eye on barrel temperature to make sure you don't over heat the barrel in too short period of time since this gas tube likely won't be the first thing to malfunction like it was designed to. If you can afford to dump magazine after magazine with ammo prices as high as they are right now I mean.
It's thicker than the average gas tube leading up to where it enters the upper receiver so will not be compatible with all barrel nuts for all hand guards without maybe some modifications to the barrel and/or hand guard. It fit Midwest industries SP rail and aero precisions enhanced gen 2 hand guard without any modifications.
Is looking for a lighter weight upper without a forward assist this one is one of the the more affordable options to reduce a little weight without costing a whole lot. Finish is nice. It's forged. Besides there being no forward assist the forging isn't the same as your basic mil spec forging. Has a rounded shape cam pin cut out on the outside of upper. Isn't the lightest upper coming in at 6.5 oz but it's affordable and reduces weight compared to mil spec.
this is one of the nicest hand guards I have purchased for such a reasonable price. It has a larger diameter than most hand guards I own but not too much and feels comfortable in my large hands. Has ventilation ports on top in the picatinny rail which I think is something all aluminum rails should have so the heat from barrel and gas block can exit from under the hand guard faster and easier for the barrel and gas block to cool down quicker. Not the lightest hand guard out there but not heavy either. Only real complaint is that the barrel nut is purchased separate.
Most AR15 owners out there probably can’t justify themselves into spending $350+ on this upper receiver when their $65 “anderson upper does the job enough” for them. But if you are like me and enjoy building ultra light weight AR15’s as one of your AR15 hobby’s or just want a top of the line upper pr want something to show off at the range then this may be what you are looking for. V seven makes top quality stuff, I own a good amount of their products including their sister company’s dark hour defenses products also. This is one of the lightest alloy uppers out there besides maybe a few others but some of those require you to buy the upper and lower as a set and none are going to be as light and as strong as this one made from lithium aluminum.
The anodizing is more of a matte type, I’m assuming due to the type of alloy used compared to 7075 or 6061 aluminum anodizing so might be difficult to find exact a matched anodized black lower that matches this ones anodizing besides the v seven 2055 lower. I cerakoted my whole ar15 that i used this on so the anodizing was no issue for me but might be for others that care if the lower and upper might be slightly different tones of black if used with a different lower other than v sevens 2055 lower.
If you like the original Magpul MOE grip you will like this if you want something the same but with different grip texture. The texturing on the grip is of spikes tactical’s spider logo. Some love it, some hate it, and some might not care either way of the logo design or having it as grip texturing. Personally I don’t mind spikes tacticals logo but I don’t care for the way i looks as grip texturing but It’s covered with my hand when i’m shooting so doesn’t bother me enough to replace it since I already have it.
Not sure why other reviewers complain about fitting issue but it fit perfectly on both lowers of mine. Very lightweight and looks cool with the lightning cuts. One of the nicer and affordable trigger guards I’ve ever had.
