This should not be called a muzzle brake when it is a flash hider and is not legal in my state. I brought this to my local firearms store where I have
a new 308 sporting rifle to be picked up. Before they pinned the muzzle brake that came with it, I wanted to change it out. The gunsmith
said that it was a flash hider and could not install it for me. I check several websites as well and they all refer to this bird cage muzzle brake as
a flash hider. It is well priced and of good design, but for me at least it cannot be used in New Jersey.

I have not done a build of the 7.62x51/308 caliber before. As with any build I only select the best components during assembly. And the magazine is a critical component. Without a reliable capture in the magazine well or a flawless feed to put the round into battery, well then you just wasted a lot of time on a build.
