Great High Quality Addition
Written on Sep 21, 2017
I bought this to replace a poorly designed, LaserMax guide rod laser for my G43. This performs as all of my Crimson Trace lasers, flawlessly. Easy to install. Easy to zero. Holds its zero. I don't like having the laser affixed to the trigger guard, but that's the only option CT offers for the G43 or 42. (I prefer the grip laser.) Design limits your holster options. I was fortunate that I had a holster for a Ruger LC9 that fits perfectly.

Avoid! Not Dependable

Review for
LaserMax Guide Rod Laser Sight for Glocks
I bought one of these for my G42 and another for my G43. I liked the internal design as it works well with my concealment holsters. Uses a sliding Slide Lock to engage. Too easily engaged! Unfortunately, it will randomly engage in a pocket, glove box or holster and drain the batteries. After 3 or 4 shots the guide rotates and the laser stops working. Great concept. Poor product design. Avoid!!!!! Would have returned, but waited too late. I would hate to think my life depended on these. They are both equally bad. Don't depend on this to save your life!

Avoid! Fails frequently and wastes batteries. Don't depend on this in a pinch!

Easy to Install and Operate

I selected this laser sight option because I wanted to be able to use the concealment holsters I already own for OWB use. This alone makes this a very practical laser option. I normally like the CTC laser options that mount to the grip, but learned from a CTC rep at the Shot Show that CTC has no plans to ever make a grip-mount laser for the G42 or G43, only rail-mount. (Sorry CTC, you just lost 2 sells). Several of my friends in LE use the G43 (and a few G42)as a back-up. They also like the option (but most don't want to spend the extra money to buy one.) The rod laser greatly enhances what is already an excellent concealable firearm. It was VERY easy to install. On my first trip to the range I had mixed results, but in all fairness I was on on outdoor range during daylight hours. It is a low to no-light device after all, so I didn't expect peek performance outside. It required no adjustments for zeroing. Recoil made the laser switch off a couple of times. This may just be a training issue on my part. Hope to take it to an indoor range soon. It worked well enough that I bought one for my G43 (which is apparently a more popular item, so expect a wait for delivery).
