I've had TFX sights, trijicon XD XR, and a few others on different pistols. I was hesitant to get these at first for a few reasons. It says on the packaging "Excludes for PCR" (that was the packaging I received rather than Optics Planets product picture), but it fits a PCR and the install was far easier than I expected. The included Allen wrench didn't fit the original rear sight so just need another to take the original out. Additionally, a vice coated with tape to prevent scratching, a hammer, a brass punch were all that were needed. Be careful because the extractor sticks out a little further than the rest of the slide, so don't allow the vice to clamp on the extractor. Watch a YouTube video on it... I had been looking at the Dawson Precision sights for the PCR, and they are probably better for a holster and a little better looking, but I liked the idea of the front sight being orange on these sights. I never cared for the size of TFX pro sights so wasn't going to order them. Trijicon doesn't make XD XR sights for this model as of the time of this review. Comparing these sights to Trijicon XD XR sights on an XDM, I'd say the XD XR sights are easier to see during the day (they have a bright yellow front sight for daytime). The orange on this sight isn't like a bright florescent type of orange that really catches your eye like XD XR sights. Neither the XD XR nor these sights have a white ring around the tritium in the rear sights as I would have liked, so the rear sights are

The diameter of this is too big to fit. The diameter is several thousands of an inch over the high end of mil spec tolerance for the inside diameter of the forward assist port of an upper. Also got a buffer tube made by the same company but that too doesn't fit. I think they are making parts to spec then coating them some type of way which adds material bringing the parts out of tolerance

I put one of these on a JP CTR02 and now I'm attempting to change the barrel out. The CTR02 is thermofitted and JP hand guards require green loctite according to the directions. Good luck ever getting this thing hot enough to break the loctite down if you want to swap a barrel out where the barrel is thermofitted. The barrel absorbs too much of the heat to break the loctite of the handguard down. And it's almost impossible to get the thermofited barrel out with the handguard on.

They work and have been better than some other brands but would be so much easier if they included some .001 or .002 shims. Takes too long trying to find the correct combination of shims. Every time I add a shim to try to get it timed it would add too much or too little. Then, if too little if jump the next size up and it would be too much.

I was looking for an upper with an undersized ID for the barrel where a heat gun us required for installation. The same as with JPs ctr02 and BCM I believe. I emailed Lantac and received an email back saying that all their receivers are undersized as I wanted. I placed an order for this and received the upper which did not require added heat for installation. The ID is at the low end of mil spec tolerances but there is still some slop. Other than that I have no complaints. I also like that the thing is black without any white writing such as "Lantac" written across the side. The misrepresentation by Lantac deserves two stars off though.

I purchased this upper because of another review and having read elsewhere that the inside diameter for the barrel is undersized compared to mil spec requiring the use of a heat gun to fit the barrel. (similar to what JP calls thermofitting). Ideally I wanted a JP15 upper, but only the JP CTR02 upper ever seems available, and the CTR02 doesn't include basic features such as the ability to install a dust cover. Having read that this comes with an undersized ID for the barrel extension and required heat to fit the barrel I was expecting an upper similar to the JP15. I was disappointed to get this and find out that the ID is just plain old mil-spec. When I noticed my barrel fit right in with a little slop just like with other regular uppers, I checked it with my calipers, and sure enough, it measures right dead in the middle of the tolerance range for mil spec.

The other reviews are accurate in that it seems to be a good product. My only complaint is that this is probably the only time I've ever bought a grip that didn't include a bolt to install it. Maybe it says not included somewhere, just disappointed that I'll have to wait a week or two in order to actually be able to install it now.

The title speaks for itself. I didn't realize until after buying it that it doesn't allow for the installation of a dust cover. I have no idea why JP would make an awesome product such as this just to take out what is typically a standard feature of an AR upper

It's a good product, but I'm disappointed that it won't work with the SCO15 lower I intended to use it with because of the quick release holes at the rear of the receiver. I'm not going to down vote this product as a result of incompatibility, but something to keep in mind when purchasing if you plan to use it with an SCO15 lower
