Light and comfy

Written on Jul 19, 2024

This helmet is surprisingly lightweight. The chinstrap, pads, etc are all very comfortable. the team Wendy retention system is the same as I use on my other setup. All high end/quality accessories and components.

The lack of needing a ceramic rifle plate on the front should help with neck strain, especially with a PVS-14 hanging off the front.

Haven’t yet been (and hoping not to be) shot in the head with it on, but reviews of the lower-level versions of this helmet manufacturer’s products gives me faith.

Recommend it!

Follow the instructions and you’ll be happy

Written on Jan 12, 2020

The instructions on the packaging state very clearly to use a reaction rod. If you do so, you won’t destroy your purchase.

These are very light weight (between 4.47 and 4.56oz for my 3). The finish is a nice color. Dark gray more than true black. Inside the receiver where the charging handle slides into place is a little rough. Nothing a minute with a piece of ultra fine sandpaper won’t fix. Mostly just an issue of it scraping off onto your charging handle if you don’t.

If you’re looking to build a <4lb gun, these are excellent.

Excellent quality and light weight

Written on Jan 11, 2020

It isn’t cheap, but the part is great. Easy install. Follow the instructions and use a heat gun to heat up the forearm slightly to slide more easily over the barrel nut. Slight taps with a plastic mallet make it all line up nicely. It’s super light. The packaging was excellent and protected the finish perfectly. I’ll definitely be using these in future lightweight builds.

Light and snug

Written on Oct 13, 2019

I saw this on a buddy’s lightweight build and decided to give it a shot. No regrets. It’s a couple ounces lighter than my prior go-to, the MOE, and is even more snug fitting/quiet than a CTR. Short of going to an ultralight option like a Battle Arms Development (with no padding), this is the best option. Plus, it’s flat enough that you can stand/balance the rifle up on it with confidence.

Apologize to your neighbors at the range

Written on Sep 08, 2019

This brake is VERY effective at directing gasses to the side. Recoil is soft, but the concussion is crazy if you’re shooting at a covered range. Works great with an ASR mount sico suppressor. Using it on a relatively light weight build, so I wanted something to manage recoil and that the wife could shoot. This does it. Used with a superlative arms adjustable gas block, JP spring, Kyn-shot, and limbsaver pad, the recoil is smooth, slow, and soft.

Great setup and great company

Written on Feb 13, 2019

I searched for a long time for quick change barrel systems. The MGI hydra (now Wyndham), Dolos, and this. I got to see this product and meet the owner at the NRA show and I was sold. My buddy talked my wife into buying it for me for father’s day. Now I have three barrels for a single pistol build and am working on 2 more.

The Warlock takes just a little bit of practice to master. Stop and take a minute to look at how it works when mounted on the receiver, barrel off, and you’ll quickly figure out what you’re doing wrong if the barrel isn’t locking. A quick turn of the inner locking ring (in or out depending on if it takes too much tightening or the barrel isn’t locking on the small lugs) and you’ll be set.

It’s a very cool product with some great uses.

Appears to be high quality, but...

Written on Sep 14, 2018

I haven't had the opportunity to shoot through this barrel yet. The machining, material, and finish all appear to be of high quality, and the product is as advertised. My only complaint is that the fluting is not aligned axially with the gas port and/or extension pin. So, neither a high ridge or flute valley is directly in the 0* or 180* position. This is really just an aesthetic issue, but it's something that bothered me enough to notice. I've heard nothing but good things about Faxon, and I look forward to testing the barrel.

Quick and Easy

Written on Jul 11, 2018

I've been eyeballying the POF roller cams for a while and finally decided to get one. And OpticsPlanet, as usual, had the lowest price. Installation on a DPMS-pattern .308 bolt was as easy as removing/installing a factory cam pin. Noticeably smoother function of the action. It could come with better instructions regarding lubrication/maintenance, but that can be found on the internet.

Get one.
