Excellent scope

Written on Jun 21, 2023

Image clarity is outstanding - significantly better than my Leupold 2-7x. Reticle is heavy enough for good visibility but light enough for precision shooting. Interestingly, my groups with the Leupold are consistently better by about 1/4 moa. Illumination is very good. Some complain that it is poor under full daylight conditions. I found it to be fine even then, not to mention that you don’t need any illumination for daylight shooting as the black reticle offers good visibility even without illumination in daylight

Comfortable and sey

Using this for a conventional revolver holster. Love being able to set it up and forget about it without messing with belt loops. Very comfortable with an L frame. I am a skinny 32 inch waist and it still rides my hips fine without slipping down - something my regular belt doesn’t do

Good mount

Mounted Vortex Strikefire on bullpup. Solid cantilever mount, especially for the price. Much more comfortable head positioning and eye alignment than the standard rings it replaced. Screws are solid. Use torque wrench to correctly tension

Good scope

Written on Apr 21, 2023

Mounted on bullpup. Glass clarity is excellent as is reticle. Illumination is adequate even in daylight without flaring but the fact is you don’t need it in daylight as you have high visibility black reticle in that situation. Clicks are almost in distinct and very tiny so you better pay attention. Also think I am seeing an inconsistent shift per click. Jury is still out on that. My old Leupold 2-7x I was shooting under an inch at 100 yards. This scope seems to have opened that up to just over 1.5 inches. Still sorting that out as well.

Nice addition

If you are replacing your trigger, spend the extra $12 to install the anti-walk pins. Of course the one down-side is you are going to need a pair of Allen wrenches to remove these so you may not want them in a location you would service in the field

Very good trigger

Excellent crisp, light trigger. Absolute night and day difference from factory / mil spec trigger. Takes a little finagling to get the set screws started under the springs, but really wasn’t too bad. Pushing the roll pin out of the ambidextrous safety was harder, and you pretty much have to do that for any trigger you use. Great trigger - especially at this price

Improved storage.

Installed in a Ram 1500 quad cab. Took about ten minutes. You are removing two body bolts, so they are large, have thread lock and take some force, but install is straightforward. While you are paying a lot for a piece of plastic, it works way better than the plastic bins I had been using. I have a tool bag, socket set, tow strap, jumper cables, trenching tool and hatchet, along with odds and ends under the seat and it stays there.
