Daniel Defense upgrade

Written on Oct 23, 2024

When I SBR'ed my DD rifle, I decided to go with a 12.5" DD barrel along with this DD Grip-N-Rip chargig handle. I haven't yet shot my rifle with a suppressor (hopefully soon), but it feels great shooting unsuppressed.

This charging handle, like other Daniel Defense gun parts, looks awesome in a serious, understated sort of way that will apeal to some people. With all the flashy stuff available, it's sometimes nice to just go with a traditional and clearly high-quality item like this. I would recommend this product.

Just what I was looking for

I opted for getting an HK .22lr MP5 pistol along with this SB Tactical folding brace so I wouldn't have to SBR the thing. I'm extremely happy with this whole package. Although this is just a pistol brace it feels adequately solid and looks great. The finish matches the stock weapon perfectly.

(Note: I had to slightly modify this brace to fit onto the MP5's receiver. The brace's pin hole, which aligns with the lower reciever hole, needed to be filed about <1mm for the pin to go through. It might be manufactured this way to make sure it's a tight fit. I used a round needle file, and it fits very nicely. I would recommend this item.)

Compatible with my HK .22lr MP5 pistol

Written on Oct 23, 2024

I was able to fit this optic mount onto my .22lr MP5 pistol without any issues. First, remove the pin at the front of the handguard so the hanguard comes off completely. Next, loosen both screws on the optic mount to allow as much slack as possible in the claws. Finally, wiggle the mount backwards (from the barrel) into position gently. It's a very tight fit, but you won't scratch anything if you're patient. I would recommend this item.
