i verified that this thing actually works to spot 7.62mm holes at 300yds (with the included cheap tripod). it's not waterproof or as compact as a field spotting scope, but this is a life-hack budget option for range usage. no regrets. also will give you a great view of the moon, and you can see Saturn's ring. cool.
