this receiver ext coupled with an 11.5" barrel puts the overall length at (approx) 25 29/32" or 3/32" under 26" which can be very important under federal law.
best handguard design

this is the best design for an ar hand guard ever. you can adjust your grip easily without getting snagged on useless sharp rails. there is no need to run rails the entire length of the hand guard unless you want usb ports and a bunch of other useless cr*p hanging off the front of your ar
