This is an excellent, high quality field/duty holster. Materials are top notch, fit and finish are old fashioned, made in the USA type quality. I use it to carry my full size 1911 with the extended beaver tail. Makes for a tight fit at first when closing the top flap but it broke in very nicely (leave your pistol in it for a couple days and that's all you need). The top flap is great for protecting the firearm and will keep it secured in the field with no worries of losing it. Top flap is fully and easily removable and even if you were to remove it, the retention is such that your firearm will not fall out. I was issued an M12 for the M9 when I was active duty but it was made by a different manufacturer. That holster was good but couldn't hold a candle to the Bianchi in terms of quality.

I highly recommend this holster. It is a little pricier than other options in terms of field holsters but the quality warrants the increased price.
