Does NOT work with a gen 1.5 MRO, otherwise functional magnifier

Written on May 07, 2020

eems like a fine product overall, I like the small form factor and effective QD mount. Easy to flip in and out of sight line. However, it is NOT compatible with a gen 1.5 MRO (serial number 89,000+ with 1x magnification or factory refurbished). Bought one to try with my older MRO, and the dot is a blurred line through the entire diopter adjustment range. Likely also will not work with gen 1 (SN below 89,000) MRO. No comment on durability or other features.

Also does not work with an Aimpoint T2 or a Primary Arms Micro Dot, and will not mount properly if directly mounted over a rear Magpul plastic iron sight. YMMV.

Side note, but I'm a little disappointed in Trijicon for outsourcing the manufacture of the magnifier to China. Boo.

Great mount, requires work for mounting a Streamlight

Written on Jul 29, 2018

The light mount itself is sturdy and low-profile, I have two. However, there is a mild incompatibility with Streamlight. I mounted a Streamlight ProTac HL-X on each, and though the hole pattern for the mounting screws are the same as on Surefire weapon lights, the tailcap end of the Streamlight obstructs access to one of the M-lok screws when the light is mated to the light mount. Probably works fine for mounting Surefire lights, though.

I was able to work around this by cutting the short end of an appropriately sized allen key down so that it can access that screw, but someone without access to the necessary tools or who doesn't want to sacrifice an allen key should use the offset light mount for their setup.

Picture is Misleading

Written on Jan 30, 2017

Picture is of the 51T model, not the 18t model. This may be misleading to some buyers. It probably works fine, but it's not what I was looking for and mistakenly ordered this one instead of the 51t 5.56 version.
