Nice balance for price point!

Written on Dec 23, 2018

First of all let me say I was pleasantly surprised by the start regarding the construction of this red dot sight. I have owned various Trijcon and EOTech products so I can match price point and quality of construction. This little red dot is fairly solid as is the QD mount. The housing of the red dot is fairly stout. I like the fact that it has a quick release, as this is very handy to this writer. The controls are placed in an awkward position but I quickly adjusted to the location and had no problem with it. I personally have no use for a blue dot because of my astigmatism and how it blooms for me. Can the red dot be better, yes of course, but for the price point it is good enough. Is this red dot going on a personal defense Carbine, no. It is going on a fun little 9 mm carbine build that I recently finished. Would I trust my life on this piece of equipment, no, but then again that is not the purpose of this particular application on my carbine, those duties are relegated to my Trijicon and EOtech products That are battle proven. Having an integrated green laser is a really nice plus for the price point. It is very rare to find a green laser integrated on a small red dot package like this one. That green laser can be seen quite a bit away at night time. I normally do not use lasers but this one is going to be fun to play with at night. For the price, it can’t be beat. If this is not going on a personal defense weapon where the red dot needs to remain on continuously and you

Yugo M92 PAP top Handguard for Microdot sightsfrom Midwest Industries

Written on May 17, 2018

This is the product I had been waiting for! I can now do a full co-witness with my Iron sights and my microdot from Primary Arms on my M92 PAP. The mount is solid and extremely well designed and built. It joins up perfectly with my lower hand guard from them also. I removed my previous railed top and replaced it with this. Make sure you loctite the hex screws. I forgot to do this with the previous top hand guard and it loosened during an advanced tactical course. Had to switch rifles . I zeroed my red dot and cowitnessed my iron sights fairly quickly. I then ran 300 + rounds without a hiccup. The hand guard remained firmly mounted and I did not loose zero. This product combined with a good microdot equals rock solid performance. Look no further. Pull the trigger. No regrets!

Great Product for the Price

If you are looking for a high end super duper laser rangefinder then this is not it. But if you are looking for a product that will provide you accurate measurement coupled with ease of use and some degree of durability and light weight other than mil spec then you have arrived. 4x magnification is more than enough for me at my shooting distances.
I like to shoot precision rifle at varying distances and this rangefinder does that job well from 600 yards and in. This product along with my wind meter and ballistics calculator allow me to place shots dead on where they need to be because I have accurate distance measurements instead of guesstimates. Are there better products out there for this purpose, of course. But if you are looking for a little workhorse without all the bells and whistles that will get the job done then look no further and pull the trigger.

Do it now, don't look back !!!!

I cannot believe how happy I am with this product. Grip and stability in shooting are critical so anything assisting your master grip is extremely useful. I chose the rubber grip for my EDC Glock 19 and 26 (pre gen 4).I like the texture and how it removes any slack on the pistol when speed drawing from concealment.
I have ordered another in moss color to go on my 19 that has a red dot mounted on a Flat Dark Earth Ceracoated slide. It will be a good compliment to that platform. Please follow the directions and the application of these grips will be quite easy. There are a few you tube videos on installation of the grips but beware. There is one that advocates cutting the finger groove strips, JUST DON'T. Follow the directions to the letter and don't forget to prep the surface well and it will turn out very nice.

People with Astigmatism REJOICE !!!!

Written on Oct 18, 2016

First let me get this out of the way. I have owned Eotech EXPS-3, Trijicon MRO, Trijicon RX-01, Bushnell TR-25's (3), Vortex Stikefire/ Viper, Bushnell, Sightmarks and a host of others throughout the years. My vision has deteriorated with time and the astigmatism has made it very difficult to view my red dot sights without dot distortion. And no, I don't want to view my dot through the rear sight for close quarter engagements. I was especially disappointed with my latest acquisition of the Trijicon MRO. I love the optic but hate my eyesight. The dot becomes multiple when using the optic. Glasses and contacts help but not too much. Enter the Spitfire. Took off the MRO and after much research mounted this little beauty in its place. Weighs more than the MRO and less than the EOTech. Unit is bigger than both but I can live with that.
The DRT reticle is not as busy as the EOTech but helps with quicker target acquisition. It also offers more reference points for that longer shot if need be, more so than the MRO or other red dots. The reticle also has no distortion with my astigmatism which is absolutely awesome. It is of sturdy construction appears fairly sturdy, enough to take a few bangings as with most Vortex products. The only con is the footprint. AS I mentioned before, it is a little larger than what I prefer but not bothered given the pluses that I have obtained. These are my initial impressions and will offer and update after I put this through the paces during some tacti

Look No Further !!!

Written on Mar 16, 2016

Years ago I used to be that guy, yes that guy. The guy did not want to go a little extra mile and shell out a few extra dollars for a quality light. I went through some that initially appeared to be well constructed but in the end they all fell apart in one way or another (Protec, NC Star, etc.). I came to the conclusion that I had to be just as due diligent on my lighting equipment as I am with my firearms and other accessories. I purchased my first TLR-1 HL a while back and have not looked back.it has been with me through many high-speed low drag tactical courses in all kinds of weather on AK's and AR's. Never skipped a beat. The quality of this piece of equipment is second to none. The construction is solid, the controls are easy to use either on a handgun or long gun. I'm not one to like pressure switches or wires so this light fits the bill perfectly for me. The light is clean and bright. The strobe functions are easy to cycle to. I would not want to be on the receiving end of 800 lumens strobing in my eyes in low/no light. I can clear both internal and external areas with a very high degree of confidence due to the field of view this light offers. Did I mention 800 lumens? That's like having a mini flood lamp on your rifle or handgun. Buy with confidence. You will not regret it. BTW- Optics Planet is usually my default place for stuff like this due to their excellent customer service and discounts. I got free shipping AND 10% off coupon. No brainer !!!

Amazing Scope For The Price

Written on Sep 28, 2015

I purchased this scope as an alternative to other high dollar scopes after reading the reviews on it. I have other higher quality scopes such as Nikon and Vortex on other weapons platforms. Mounted this on a recently acquired DPMS AR10 .308 prior to a long range tactical precision course. Needless to say I was not disappointed one bit. Scope was not affected by .308 recoil. The clarity of this scope was great given the price. I am a stickler for clarity due to my failing eyes as I have gotten older. I was pegging targets out to 500 yrds with no problem whatsoever. Adjustments are easy to make on MOA and parralex and the scope holds Zero flawlessly. While on the course one of my rings came loose so I had a few fliers. Figured it out, tightened the rings and was right back at confirmed Zero with no problem. The mildots are always a big plus as I prefer holdover shooting vs. moa click adjustment when there is little to no wind. I am going to mount one of these on a recently purchased Rem. 700VTR Tactical and see how it does out to 1000 yrds. Is this a high dollar scope? NO. Is it a low dollar scope that mimics a high dollar scope very well? ABSOLUTELY.
