Epic piece of gear

I can’t say enough good about this hand guard. This thing is solid, well built, and looks hard core. I got the 11 in so the 10.5 barrel for my .458 Socom sits slightly recessed inside of it. Nailed it. Perfectly. I could even go with a tank break and still have plenty of clearance. Suppressor will fit inside slightly with no issues. Very impressed with what Strike Industries is doing. Easy install. Highly recommended.
Only “con” would be the built in front sight. It’s a cool feature, but I feel like if I was rough on the ole girl, that thing would snap off. Nothing a pair of back up sights wouldn’t fix.

So far so good. I’ve got it set up on a 6.8 SPC. No rounds through it yet. It’s a bit….glossier?….than I would have expected. Purely aesthetic but I know that matters to many. Has a good weight to it.

Cool Concept Big Design Flaw

I messed around with one of these at a local gun shop and decided to buy. The concept is great in my opinion, but upon installing (or attempting at least) I found issues with the mag well and trigger guard.
If you have an after market trigger guard it probably will not work for you.
If your lower comes without a removable trigger guard it probably will not work for you.
If you have an irregular magazine well style it probably will not work for you. (Even slightly different than stock A2 styles. The difference in the flared bottom from one White Label Armory lower I had compared to a stock style lower could not be discerned by the naked eye. I had to measure to see the numbers)
After breaking one (the rising arm that wraps the mag well is a weaker plastic type) I reordered and only then did I figure out it would not go around any stylized or designs other than stock A2 style rifles.
That being said, when I figured that out and installed on that one it fit like a dream. It did exactly what I wanted it to do and worked as advertised.
Mind you, this is for recreation. I can’t imagine these things holding up to field conditions, hard drops, rough treatment from user.
