The front end is painfully sloppy and flexible. The mag release is difficult to manipulate from behind the rifle (compared to other options). This is an acceptable hunting stock (yep, a straight up "Field" stock. It is not, in any way, a precision stock. With a couple small tweaks it could be great.
Ordered two. The illumination in both is/was terrible. The illuminated horseshoe doesn't align with the black horseshoe (non-illum). It bleeds significantly to the right. It's just poor design and/or sloppy QC. Returned both without fielding either. I'm not interested in finding where else they cut corners. The glass is great and the optic shows real promise but there is too much competition in the LPVO space so I'm moving on.
I now have 4 of these. Even if you don't have an astigmatism these things are fantastic. This is a no-brainer for the price. Etched reticle means if batteries go bad, you still have a sight picture (just not red or green) illumination.
I couldn't be more pleased with this. Watched the video that Classic Firearms did and decided to just get this vs a bump helmet for NVG host. Super comfy and adjustable. Solid metal shroud/no slop at all. Velcro panels are perfect. Bungies work as they should. It's a bit heaver than the high speed/low drag competition but I can't justify spending 3-6x more. I would buy one for family members if they had a small size.
Good: Glass quality is good, not great. Support from a major manufacturer. Made in the USA (quit buying stuff from China!) Nice size. I have non-illum so can't speak to that feature.
Bad: The reticle is like looking at two 2x4s. Great for a hunting optic in dense foliage. Not great for precision. Turrets are average.
Ugly: It's probably over priced for what it is. HOWEVER, I'm willing to pay more for products made in the US by American companies. This optic belongs in the $450-499 range. Finally, you get 5.6 mils of elevation. Full stop. That's plenty to get you to roughly 800 yards with most MODERN hunting cartages (i.e. Not .308) but if you want to shoot beyond that this is not the scope for you.
I got mine on a super good deal so I think it's worth what I paid for it. But not a dollar more. YMMV.
Super easy way to decrease pull weight. Run with affordable polished trigger and you’ve got a trigger that runs like a $150 drop in for less than $50. It’s a no brainer. Pull the trigger on these already!
These work great to reduce pull by 2-4lbs. So you generally end up with about a 5lbs pull. I run these in several ARs. Flawless and cheap way to get to a better pull weight and more accuracy out of a rifle.
