Useful Cheek Riser
Written on Apr 13, 2018
Review for
Hornady Gun Cheek Pieces
I bought this because I needed a cheek riser for a scoped lever action rifle. This was one of the few options and it works great. It's adjustable to get the perfect fit on a butt stock and solid. The cartridge loops hold my 45-70 rounds securely, are easily accessible and the storage pouch is good for keeping a few essentials handy (tactical skittles fit perfectly). It does add a little bulk to your rifle but it's easy enough to take on and off for storage in a crammed gun safe.

No Malfunctions
Written on Apr 12, 2018
It's a good factory HK magazine that fits in my HK USP-C in 40S&W and 357SIG. It feeds the rounds when necessary, doesn't cause malfunctions, and the rounds don't rattle when loaded. There isn't much more to say about a magazine other than it's reliable and functions perfectly.

Best "Combat" Sights I've Found
Written on Apr 12, 2018
Review for
Trijicon H&K USP Compact HD Night Sights
These sights are bright and easy to find even in low light. The U-notch rear sight and large (I have the yellow version) front sight are fast to line up and easy to use with rapid shots but still precise enough to group at longer ranges. They were straight forward to install with just a hammer and punch. They also have the "tactical" shelf if you care about being able to perform one-handed manipulations. Overall these sights are perfect for a carry gun and are currently installed on my HK USP-C in 357 Sig.

Good Mil-Spec Trigger
Written on Apr 12, 2018
As far as mil-spec triggers go, this is one of the best but it's still just a mil-spec trigger. Don't expect this to be in the same league as the myriad of specialty AR triggers on the market but it's also far cheaper. It's a good choice if you prefer the reliability of a mil-spec trigger to the light, crisp pull of the more expensive options.

Comfortable Shooting a Shorty AK
Written on Apr 12, 2018
Review for
Midwest Industries Blast Diverter
I bought this to make shooting my 7.62x39 Galil Ace Pistol with an 8.5" just a little more bearable. The blast from a short rifle like that really annoys your neighbors at the public range and makes shooting indoors pretty uncomfortable. A suppressor would be the best thing but none of my cans are rated to a 8.5" 7.62x39. This device doesn't really stop the blast or noise but directs it away from you and your shooting buddies. It may not seem like much but it makes a huge difference and it does it at an affordable price. Many of its competitors do the same job at more than twice the price so why spend more when this works as intended.

Best Budget Option
Written on Apr 12, 2018
In the world of lightweight AR builds, everything is expensive. If you want to cut the ounces without breaking your wallet, this is the best option. It's an easy to install sturdy rail with just enough Picatinny to be useful and MLOK to make up the difference. It weighs around 7 ounces with the barrel nut. Yes, there are lighter options but for each ounce more you take off, it'll cost you $50-100 more. Overall, it's a good balance of weight reduction, utility, and cost.
