14” m4 non ported barrel
Written on Oct 13, 2026
After getting a form 1 approved and stamp on hand. I ordered the black River manufacturing m4 14” bbl to convert a clone into an SBS.
The item shipped relatively quick. No fancy packaging. It’s made in Turkey. It’s made well. However, the front sight was loose and the threads were stripped.
The barrel assembly fits both a turkish m4 clone and an original Benelli m4. The chamber area required a little sanding to get machine marks, burrs off the chamber area. About 5 minutes with 3k grit sand paper. After that, it installed just like the orginal barrel. I have not fired it yet. Waiting for some good weather before I can test fire the new setup. Overall, it’s a good deal.

UTG pro extended claw mount- MP5
Written on Mar 18, 2025
Bought this mount after a lot of research. It is reasonably priced. The quality and finish is superb. No visible machining marks, the edges are chamfered and the mount extends all the way to the rear sight. It is very easy to install . Probably the easiest MP5 mount to install. It’s also low profile.
This mount dropped in without fitting to an SP5, AP5 and MAC5 pistol. The extended mount allows for a rearward installation of a red dot sight to avoid the charging handle. It’s long enough to mount a red dot and magnifier. It will also allow for proper placement of a micro prism optic. When used with a red dot with a see-thru base, it will provide a clear view of the Iron sights.
I don’t like the look of the laser engraved logo on the side. I blackened the markings with aluminum black.

Pro mag mag well adapter
Written on Apr 23, 2018
Got the pro mag adapter for my recent AR9 pistol build. The adapter itself is made of mostly plastic with steel inserts for critical areas such as the feed ramp, ejector and bolt hold open cam. It is a two piece design that inserts from the bottom of the magwell and does not require the bolt release to be removed for installation. It is a quick change design. It also works with standard a bolt catch. The last round bolt hold open feature remains functional when used with colt smg type mags. The mag adapter is a bit tight , mags won’t drop free. I think prolonged use may resolve that. The adapter also fits well with milspec lowers. ( colt, Anderson, bcm, spikes). I can not really attest to the durability of the adapter. Time will tell. But it is a cost effective alternative to other products that cost substantially more.
