Fantastic optic

Written on Dec 08, 2025

Honestly a great optic.

Eye relief is fine. Shot some 2 gun courses with this mounted on an AK. The eye relief is perfectly functional if you mount the sight well. The magnification is high enough to help at range and low enough to be comfortable up close.

Illumination is incredibly bright. The brightest reticle illumination I have ever seen. Everyone i show this thing to is blown away by how bright the reticle illumination is. Like I cannot emphasize how bright this thing is on the max setting. On a clear summer day at noon in direct sun on a flat range this thing still stands out clear and red when illuminated. I am also red/green colorblind so I have trouble seeing red sometimes. This thing STILL stands out.

Light weight

Small profile.

Multiple mount options included in packaging.

Very clear glass. Little to no noticeable distortion

If you want a small, light, quick fixed power scope with good illumination, this will do the job. I cannot see any downsides at this price point. This little scope is great.

Acceptable but not great

Is this a functional sight? Yes.

Is this a great sight? No.

Build quality looks good. It is a good looking sight. Performance is meh.

Illumination is a problem with this sight.

This red dot will not perform on a very bright day. Range day in the summer at noon? Barely visible. My PA SLX 3x prism has brighter illumination than this red dot which is extremely confusing considering "red dot bright" is a selling point for an illuminated reticle. Reticle illumination should never be brighter than a red dot, yet somehow the EFLX is dim enough on max brightness (on a fresh battery) to be outdone by reticle illumination.

Max brightness is somehow both too dim to use on a bright day, but also bright enough to bloom out and get illuminator artifacts. Crank the brightness up so that you can see the dot on a marginally bright day and you will be dealing with a halo around your smudged dot.

Battery life is fine. Auto off works but this sight lacks shake-awake(!!!) making it questionably useful on a carry/bedside gun.

This is the first EOtech product I have owned and I cannot help but be disappointed. My friends rave about their holographic sights. I expected this red dot to be of similar quality. I was disappointed.

Vortex and Primary Arms both offer similar or cheaper options for this optic cut. Some of those options also have shake awake tech. I will likely try to offload this sight in favor of one of those options. The lack of features such as shake awake combined with the dim,
