This holder does exactly what I was looking to do; comfortably carry a spare mag for my XDm 45. My stacked mag easily fits into the pouch and the cover holds it securely in place . (Due to the size/weight of the mag I wanted a secure cover.) Even with close to a one pound mag the Velcro fasteners hold the unit securely in place on my belt and it's NOT digging into my ribs.
