I have the shipped fast Roller Cam Pins in 3 Aero .308 builds. Pack bearing with grease, install and feel the difference. If you own an AR .308 this is one of the tricks to improve performance.
I have the KNS pivot and takedown pins on four.308 Aero builds. Although not as conveinent as the slotted pins they fit and perform much better. Depress the plunger, push and out they come...easy peasy.
The .308 standard takedown pin slot points down and creates a flat spot whereas the round KNS eliminates the spring and detent and provides full support. The KNS DPMS-308-PBTD pin fits Aero Precision Receivers much better than the undersized pins in the AP LPK. The KNS removes easily once you get the hang of it. All my Aero 308 builds have the KNS Takedown pins because they slow receiver wear and are very well made.
Compared against a standard pin that had its contact points smoothed and lubed the Roller Pin has a slightly easier feel when using the charge handle to unlock the .308 bolt. Because it is a bearing I packed the roller with a light grease. It's a keeper.
If you have a multipiece USGI 5.56 cleaning rod this is a must have adapter to attach bushes that will not fit the rod threads. Smoothing the connection seams on such cleaning rods is a good idea.
Nice looking clean ammo, each round shows attention to quality control. I experienced not one failure to fire from 3 .308 builds and besides you want primers that are resistant to slam fire. Accuracy from Faxon Big Gunner 20" AR .308 barrels available on this site was better than expected.
Fits and functions exceptionally well in an Aero Precision .308. Easy to grip and pull, latches smoothly without wearing receiver notch. Lube handle and the channel. Clean and relube handle and channel after break in.
Very nice well made charge handles. Purchased two because of the detailed writeup and reviews. One went to an Aero build and the other went to a Caverns Armory build and both work perfectly. The price was reasonable, quality high and shipping was fast.
For the detent to engage the pivot pin on my LR-308 the Armament pin head thickness had to be reduced. I found this out the hard way after installing the pivot pin and trying to depress an out of alignment detent to remove the pivot pin. Because the slot in the rear takedown pin is turned downward on the LR-308 and adds play I used a round KNS .278" diameter push button pin instead. Building a .308 includes extra work and hidden expenses.
