I wanted a small, lightweight reflex sight for a Pistol Caliber Carbine carbine the Venom fit the bill perfectly. The glass is very clear and the dot is crisp and bright. An advantage over many other miniature reflex sights is that the battery compartment is accessible from the top. No need to remove the sight to change the battery. Also, the Vortex VIP lifetime warranty is added peace of mind should anything go wrong with the sight.
Other reviews have knocked it down a star because of a small bit of adhesive from the packaging stuck to the sight, as was the case with mine. This is a less than minor inconvenience and no reason to downgrade a great little sight, especially when considering the very reasonable price.

Simply an amazing optic with a very useful reticle. A dedicated red dot at 1X and an illuminated crosshair at 4X. The reticle is etched on the glass so you have full use even if the battery dies. The glass is crystal clear and I can detect no degradation in light transmission at either power. Same eye relief at either power (not always the case with your typical 1-4 or 1-6 scope). Holds Zero when switching from 1X to 4X and vice versa. Also holds zero after removing the scope and re-installing. Greatest feature is the change from 1X to 4X by means of a throw lever. When you think about it, how often do you use 2X or 3X an a typical 1-4 scope? I never do. It's all or nothing magnification wise.
There are a couple of downsides to this scope, the price and the weight. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. Crystal clear glass and built like a tank construction. It is heavy at about 1.5 pounds (which includes the integral mount) but the weight doesn't bother me mounted on a Tavor, as most of the weight is at the rear of the rifle. I know someone who has the 1.5X/6X mounted on a relatively light AR and the weight doesn't bother him.
I only have one major gripe. For what this scope costs, Elcan ahould include the bikini lens cover with the scope instead of making it an after market accessory.

Works as intended. Expensive for what you get but if you've invested in an Elcan scope, you need to protect the glass. My one gripe is that, for the price of the scope, Elcan should include this with the scope.

Good item that is helpful in sighting in without using too much ammo. Keep in mind that it is not intended to get you dead on before you fire a shot. Sight in at 25-30 yards and you should be on paper and within 3-4 inches at 100 yards. I was off about 3 inches in elevation and within 1 inch windage at 100 yards after sighting in with the bore sight at 25 yards. Worth the modest investment.

Very innovative idea from Otis for a cleaning patch that is essentially universal. I've used these patches on a 5.56/.223 up to 45ACP very successfully. A little pricey compared to other patches. However, when you consider that this is the only patch you'll need, the somewhat higher price is offset because you'll no longer need to buy caliber specific patches. These are the only cleaning patches I'll use.

All that you need and nothing you don't to clean and maintain any 5.56/.223 rifle. Works very well in my AR and Tavor. The B.O.N.E. Tool is definitely a plus for AR bolt and bolt carrier cleaning. A nice feature is that you can adapt this kit to other calibers simply by buying a patch holder and brushes for the appropriate caliber and the all caliber cleaning patches. The only cleaning kit you should ever need.

Found this after doing a web search for Tavor cases. It is a perfect size for the Tavor and the internal straps secure the rifle nicely for transport. High quality, solidly built and well padded. Since it is rectangular and the mag pouches are internal, with only one large external pocket, the case doesn't scream rifle enclosed. The only drawback is if you use an after market extended handguard, such a the Midwest Industries, is that the strap that secures the muzzle is too short. However, this is easily remedied with some additional velcro.
I should note that the case I received was fully sealed in the original factory packaging but the internal divider (which attaches to the spine of the case with velcro) was missing. A quick e-mail to Elite Survival Systems and the missing divider was delivered two days later. Kudos to Elite Survival Systems for their customer service.
Kudos also to Optics Planet for their service. When I placed my order, it included free 2-day shipping. I placed my order late in the evening, it shipped the next day and was delivered two days later. You can't ask for better than that!
