Wilson Combat 1911 Checkered Frontstrap
As others have said, on first glance it looks something like a stamped aluminum micro-cheese grater...But after installing one on a Springfield RO Elite Operator (yeah, yeah, I know), for me, this gun took on a whole new life. Grip weld went from just good to truly 'welded'. Mad level leap in controllability, yielding super tight grouping in rapid fire.
Installation was easy...slide the tabbed edge under the grip panel, hook the tab on the frame cutout, then slide the other edge under the opposing panel, tighten everything down, and done! No wiggle or movement, solid.
Speaking for myself, this has been the single most important mod I have added to a 1911, hands down.
