Good Tactical Scope

Written on Jan 28, 2020

This is my second PA 5X Prism Scope, My first was a generation I. Overall I am pleased with this scope, but I am not pleased with the multi-caliber concept of the current ACSS bullet drop reticle. I would prefer something more caliber and barrel length specific to better math the ballistics of my 16" barrel and shooting the M193 cartridge. The provided sight in instructions provide only 'close enough' accuracy.

Not as good as it could be

Written on Nov 15, 2019

I have mixed feelings about this scope. The optics are excellent, and I like the look and the rubberized finish. On the down side the vaunted 5 MOA part of the reticle is pretty useless for M193 balistics. This is too bad because this could be a great scope with a few changes like changing the adjustment to mils with popup turrets and changing elevation 'ladder' part of the reticle to mils as well. Unfortunately these suggestions were not well by the Lucid person I spoke with. If I had it to do again, I would buy a Primary Arms 5X Prism instead.

NEEDS WIDER SLOT

Written on Apr 17, 2018

This is a good product at a good price but it cannot be tightened sufficiently by manually turning the thumbnuts with the thumbs alone. Weaver knew this and provided a slot for this purpose, but they should have made the slot fit their weaver scope ring wrench. I accomplished this in a few minutes with a jeweler's file.
