This is definitely a niche item with an expected use in mind. If you need a chest rig with a backpack, it is perfect, that is what I want it myself and got my money's worth. Now if you need a chest rig and or a backpack separately, look elsewhere. That being said it will work as a backpack standalone with the right combination of buckle connections, but not as a standalone chest rig.
The chest rig portion is simple just a molle panel, but with the right attachments and planning it can be expanded as needed, making it fairly versatile.

The trigger feels great, very solid. It performs exactly as advertised.
