Hornady Powder Cop

Written on Jul 19, 2015

I purchased the powder cop to help monitor the powder charge with reloading. I have it in station 3 of my Hornady lock n load AP press prior to the bullet feeder die. It works really well. I recommend the powder cop die as an addition to the reloading diesets.

.45 Caliber Bullet Feeder Tube

Written on Jul 19, 2015

I purchased the 3 pack bulletube feeder to go along with the .45 caliber feeder die for reloading. It works good. Holds close to 30 round nose .45 caliber bullets. Between the feeder die and 3 pack of bullettubes the cost and setup is quite a bit cheaper than the fully automatic bullet feeder. Well worth the purchase!

Hornady Lock n Load AP package

Written on Jul 19, 2015

I purchased this reloading press based on the overall reviews and the quality of Hornady products. All you need is the dieset and shell plate for what you intend on reloading. The instructions are well laid out as is the DVD that's in the package. Hornady's customer service are very helpful should you have any questions. After going back and forth between the Dillon XL650 and this Hornady press I chose the lock n load AP. This isn't to say that Dillon isn't a good product. I based it on Hornady'd reputation and the availability of the reloading products from a vast array of shops and online distributors. Optics Planet fits the bill for their customer service and free shipping over $50. I've reloaded close to a thousand rounds of .45ACP already without any issues. The key is keeping everything clean which I do after approximately 200 rounds. I've been using the original ammunition brass several times also. .45ACP ammo cost was the main reason for this new hobby. I'm now looking into the 9mm dieset for reloading 9mm. What's really nice is you just purchase 3 new Hornady lock n load bushings for your size ammo dieset and your good to go. a simple quarter turn twist to remove your existing dieset from the press and when you're ready to re-use them you pop them in. No resetting! I recommend the Hornady lock n load AP. I made the right purchase for the money!

EGW Chamber Checker

Written on Jul 17, 2015

This is an excellent product for reloading. The slightest variation in case this will let you know. I've used this for 1000 .45ACP rounds and it's a must have if you reload. I purchased this based on other reviews and I'm glad I purchased the EGW checker.

OPMOD PRB Range Bag

Written on Jun 01, 2015

I purchased this range bag back in March and have been using it for a couple of months now. It's a really good range bag. I load it up with 2 handguns inside their own cushioned mats that I put on the range tables. Ammunition fits perfectly in each bag. Spent cases fill up the ammo bag nicely. Ear protection and small binoculars in another bag. 11"x18" targets rolled up fit good with the outside Velcro tabs. 6 magazines of 3 each (.45ACP & 9MM)fit perfectly in the front zipper section. Stapler with spares in one outside pouch with tools and cleaning supplies in the others. the bag is large in size however, you can really fill it up good. The only complaint that I do have and it's a very minor one is the pulls on 3 of the zippered pouches have come apart. I just threaded small shoe laces through the main zipper pull and it works awesome. I gave this a 5 star rating for it suits my needs well for it's size and functionality. I'm very happy with this bag and would no doubt purchase this again.

Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Earmuffs

Written on Mar 17, 2015

Based on previous reviews and the price I figured it was worth a shot. I'm glad I did. I used them on an indoor range during a NRA rifle course. Folks voices are beautifully amplified with no feed back. And you can adjust the sound amplification as needed. It's amazing during shooting how the noise is reduced. I would without doubt recommend these earmuffs for the quality, price along with Optics Planet's customer service.
