I did not buy these for skiing, but rather to wear when I'm out doing snow removal in the ND wind. They work great to block the wind and stop watery eyes, have great visibility (mine are amber) and are very comfortable. They did not fit over my eyeglasses but I wear contacts most of the time anyways. Don't know if they'd be any good for skiing because who has time for that when this beautiful ND wind tries to snow me in every day? But they do work fantastic for me and I imagine they would keep the wind out of the eyes of those college kids on the snowboard slopes just fine, although I doubt that would prevent the incredible amount of tears that naturally flow from their eyes due to their extremely feminine nature. I would recommend these to anyone, I do wish they came in camo but that's about all I can say about them, goodbye Bill & Hillary I hope I never hear from you again.
This case arrived in good shape, price was reasonable as was shipping. I use these on many of my rifles, especially when I want to start developing loads for a new rifle. With these cases (and the Hornady OAL tool that uses them) I can determine exactly where a particular bullet contacts the lands and then adjust my seating depth from there. The difference being that I know my starting point from the get-go, making it easier and faster to make adjustments and taking some of the guesswork out of it. The minuscule price of a modified case is saved in components I would use up in trying to determine the distance to lands in components and/or time (if you're using the old magic marker method). I do not use these in everything I load for, but I do use it for all my bolt action guns. Hornady does make a tool with a bend in it so you can use it on lever actions, semi autos, etc., but I am not particularly concerned with milking every last thousandth out of those so I stick to shorter OAL's and just make sure they cycle well. I would definitely recommend this product (and the accompanying Hornady tool) if you are looking to establish seating depth quicker when you are developing loads for bolt action guns, whether or not you think it is worth your time to do the same for other types of platforms is up to you:
I was looking to scope a .243 in order to loan it to a friend just about 10 days before the opener of deer season. The rifle is s light, handy bolt action M70, and I did not want to weigh it down with a big heavy scope. I settled on the 2-7X power range with the smaller 33mm objective for that reason. I chose Leupold because of the excellent experiences I've had with their products previously and the fact that they are 100% USA made and proud of it. I'm told they have great customer service as well. I don't know as I've never had to use it. I mounted the scope in Talley lightweight 2-piece low rings. When sighting it in I noticed the clarity right off. This scope is bright and clear. I took it out at dusk in order to see how well the light transmission was and was happy to see that I could detect great detail long after shooting light. I got the S.A.B.R. reticle which is designed for muzzleloaders and shotguns shooting slugs. There are additional crosshairs for this purpose. I have not spent enough time to see where these holdovers will match up with my much faster .243 rounds, but they may prove to be useful at longer ranges, I'll have to see. The adjustments are positive and move the point of impact as they are supposed to at the appropriate range. The power selector isn't too tight and will be easy to adjust with gloves on. This scope has a pretty generous eye relief, not really a big deal with my light recoiling .243 but very nice for those putting this scope on a heavier
