There are two things to think about when ordering a thermal, one is the field of view this unit has a field of view of about 35 ft is 100 yards minimum zoom is 3x some units have 2X which I believe would give a wider field of view if it weren't for the cost I would go for one with a rangefinder also that switches between 50 and 35mm, one thing to note if you order from op don't expect quick delivery ordered on November 26th received December 6th that being said the price was right I've ordered from op for many years they've never been known for quick delivery so expect that love Op , hate slow shipping
