I was in need of a new stock for my Howa 1500 in .300 win mag. Looking at the options out there, i wasn't thrilled with what it was looking like for prices. Then I thought of the Archangle stock I've had on my Mosin Nagant for years now, and I've been really pleased with it. So, i looked to see if ProMag made one for the Howa 1500. My Howa 1500 had the Hogue stock on it and it had so much flex, I needed something more rigided. The Archangel is fitting the bill well. It did add a little more weight, but that was expected. It worked with the funds I had available. If i had one complaint, it would be the spacing around the barrel. The stock fits well around the action, but since this stock was made for heavy barrels as well, my rifle not being a heavy barrel, there is a fair bit of space between the stock and barrel. But, from a manufacturing stand point, i get it. It's not a big deal. Stock has been performing really well amd for the price point, I'm ok with the barrel/stock spacing. Also, it looks good too.

The mount/base itself is quite nice, but a couple of the screw heads couldn't handle being torque to the torque specs of the mount manufacturer. They really need to up the quality on the screws.
