Wanted to upgrade my AMD-63 with a usable hand guard, found resources online stating the Magpul AKM handguard could be fitted, took me about 15 minutes with a dremel tool to fit it and is rock solid. It also makes the rifle look much nicer and now I can grip the rifle without worrying about burning my hand. Would also be a great cheap upgrade to a stock AKM.

So, this is kinda of an odd review so I will just be straight with you. I ordered the 3-12x50mm model and the boxed stated that this was the model. However, inside the box was the Weaver Kaspa 3-9x40mm scope with ballistic-x reticle. This turned out to be a good thing for me as the smaller objective scope fit my rifle rings and it turns out 9 power is all the magnification I needed for where I shoot. So, if you are wanting the 3-12x50mm I suggest checking the contents of the box as soon as possible and contacting Optics Planet customer service. I don't think it was a mistake on their part (i.e. Optics Planet), I think it was just a freak occurrence where someone in china put the wrong scope in the wrong box. So, in my case the scope I received works great and seems plenty durable enough, clear enough, and priced very well. For this reason, I cannot rate this higher than 3 stars because I obviously don't have the correct scope but if the one I received is indicative of Weaver quality I wouldn't worry about picking one up. Again, because I am satisfied with the product I received I am not returning it.
